For those who knew Jake Himes...

Jake lost his battle with cancer last nite. Jake was a HUGE presence in the rally community here in MN and all over the USA and very well loved. If you've ever been around more than a few rallys in MN you've either heard the name or met the man. He was a very unique individual that could never be duplicated. Always willing to lend a hand to help someone out even if he didn't know them. He will be very missed.

Jake was able to make it out to a few rallys this year after the treatments. He was at Headwaters and Ojibwe at least. I don't know if he made it out to Shooting Star or not. He also made it to some other events around the country I believe. He brightened up anyones day that he came across at these rallys. He was truly one of kind.

May you rest in rally heaven, Jake.

I'm sorry to hear this. The name sounds familiar, but I'm not sure if I've ever met him. Regardless, it's never good to hear news like this. I wish his family and friends the best.

If anyone is interested in finding out what type of a person Jake was, just go to this link ( http://www.specialstage.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=28625 ) and read through the thread. He really showed what it means to genuinely care about a sport, a community and family. May we all learn from his example.

I think I met him once as the name is pretty familliar. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

He used to be in the yellow RX-7 and the maroon Sentra SE-R.
