E98 Racing Fuel Now Available!

E98 Racing Fuel: $4.79/gallon

E98 is exactly as it sounds, over 98% ethanol. What does this mean for you? Extreme resistance to detonation, better cooling properties, and a cheap alternative for high HP applications! Not to mention 117+ octane

There are a couple of considerations to be made prior to running this fuel. One of which being a fuel system capable of supporting E98. To make the same power on E98 you will need approximately 45% more fuel than standard gasoline. We will be researching the maximum power levels attainable on the tried and true Walbro 255hp in the coming weeks, as well as the maximum power levels attainable with various fuel injector sizes.

Another thing to consider is the fact that E98 is hydroscopic, or it absorbs water. You would not want to leave this fuel in your gas tank for an extended period of time as it will essentially ruin the fuel.

Now, we do not claim to be experts on ethanol based fuels. We are still learning and experimenting with these fuels in both our daily drivers and our race vehicles. We have yet to have an issue with E85 in regards to stock fuel lines and tanks, but have no experience with stock pumps and injectors. Ethanol is supposedly corrosive, but many people have ran E85 for years without adverse affects on their fuel system.

So with that said, use this fuel at your own risk! We will be running it in many of our vehicles and will report here with the results. Why spend $15/gallon on C16 when you can get better performance for just $4.79/gallon only at Modern Automotive Performance!

Price drop based on new distribution! And just an FYI, plan on maxing out at around 600whp with 1600cc injectors

Was that 600 whp on your dynojet? What was the base fuel pressure?

Base pressure was around 36PSI on those pulls. We had a small issue on the dyno, and will be re-dynoing with higher fuel pressure soon.

It's going to be interesting to see how your results change since your actual fuel delivery rate will drop as your fuel pressure goes up.

Well we decided to switch to C16 for the dyno day, but after words we will definitely be looking into this more.
