Trans Prob/Axles/Carrier Bearing?

Wondering, I was rolling through a stop sign in 3rd and while going to accelerate I felt a 'jerk' in my car.. I'm not too sure on what would cause this, my trans is new, the Clutch is new, the Fidanza FW is new but it showed signs of oxidization on the friction surface but I asked a shop and they said that should rub off with a slip of the clutch, back when I put it in.

Again this morning I was going down the road, not blowing any signs, just going down the road around 25mph in 4th and I went to accelerate with a slight load, (not boost) and it did it again! I then parked it at home and walked to work.

Things to concern:
1. Driver side axle boot is torn and exposed..
2. Carrier bearing is original (105k)
3. I used stock bolts to put the Flywheel on (are they too short? I loctite' them)
4. My coilpack seems to be shit but its too cold to swap it in my cold ass garage.( is it miss-firing and making it 'jerk'?)
5. I'm not even mad that it's messing up, I've been finding these cars to be quite hilarious with problems.
6. Honestly, I'm not even mad.
I know this isnt a whole lot of information but this may help some of you who have had these problems as well explain WTF IS WRONG!?

Re: Trans Prob/Axles/Carrier Bearing?

Replace your axle, no biggie. You have two carrier bearings on the driveshaft, both wear out and will thump under hard acceleration. The easy fix it to pump them full of Window Weld but you need to unbolt them from the chassis so the weight of the driveshaft doesn't offset it. If you're talking about the carrier bearing on the driver's side axle, they don't wear out that I know of, if it did, it's the type of bearing that would howl like a wheel bearing. Stock bolts should be fine for a Fidanza if I remember correctly. I always measure the remaining thread penetration when putting on a different flywheel, just in case.

Re: Trans Prob/Axles/Carrier Bearing?

Yeah, it didn't thump from the DS. It does do that, but only when backing up or going slow or sometime, I cannot remember right now..

I was reading over on another board with a user that had kind of the same problem, someone advised him that he probably had bad knock and the motor was going .

GB, I think you'll be recieving a check from me soon...real soon

I don't think it has anything to do with the transmission/clutch but probably some misfiring or maybe just maybe some walking? I dont know it only does it at a low rpm when its dogging and it jumps or jerks..I dont even care anymore, It's parked again, going to get a new motor and see what that does..
