With a Mustang?
But seriously, what a moron. He needs a SCCA official permanently following him around with a black flag. Every time he sits behind the wheel of a car that official needs to be pointing, shaking his head, and waving the black flag vigorously at him. Even when hes just at the grocery store.

Re: How not to autocross
That was pretty funny, and pretty sad that those judges are so cool about him doing that. The end was the best, right when you think he's about to make it - nope!

Re: How not to autocross
Someone should tell him auto crossing isn't about power.
I actually thought he would make it at the end too...but nope, can't control powerslides and can't control the brakes locking up either.

No shit, how many times does he have to do the exact same tree killing manuever before figuring out that he should just give up and go the drag strip, where that car might actually be useful.

Re: How not to autocross
I can't stop watching this video... I'm willing to bet this is one of those guys who thinks he's king shit on the street and talks up his car like it's the fastest thing on 4 wheels. But as exhibit A shows, he can't drive worth a damn.

Re: How not to autocross
His bragging might be true. It could be fast as all hell, but that doesn't mean much if you can't keep it pointed where you want it.
I would agree with Black97civic, but I think he'd just crash it into the wall at the drag strip too.

Re: How not to autocross
Idk I don't think it was all that bad. I mean he did good for a while didn't he? I've never autocrossed before so I guess I just don't know how hard/easy it is.

Re: How not to autocross
Let me put it this way: In any event around here, any two of those spins and you would be done for the day. Same goes for taking out that many cones in the decel zone at the end of the run, only most people would have the common courtesy to not show up until people forget who you are. As for the frolicking in the trees, you'd be done for the season or banned from the sport.

Re: How not to autocross
While He should be put on vacation from the autoX stuff, It sounds like the rules/people here are a little too strict. A spin by accident is just that, even if it does happen twice. I am not excusing his powerspin/burnout moves and forest diving though.

Re: How not to autocross
It depends on the site really. I dont know for sure what the penalties are but they make it very clear that if you fuck up and continue to fuck up, you're gone. Autocrosses tend to be loud and inconvenient for any residential or business areas nearby. A lot of people complain about various aspects of the sport and will try very hard to get certain sites shut down. If you drive like a moron you could hit something. If you hit something, the clubs insurance goes through the roof and the site owners probably wont want to host any more of your events. The local group has some decent sites, but also some pretty poor ones just because there isnt anything better available. Their biggest fear is losing the few they have left because some jackass cant drive within his limit.

Re: How not to autocross
I think it is funny how he has a radar detector in the car. If he tried to run from the police he would probably spin out.
I understand if you spin out and it was an accident, however this person was getting angry and trying to run harder like he has something to prove. You know you are going way too fast if you run off the pavement into a tree.

"Fuuuuuck." "Off road machine right there." And the official stopping him to take out the cone from the front end. Lol. I'm sure the EPA is down his throat for killing so much habitat.
