Well My evening on the 21st started off fine, picked up my girlfriend, and went to the wild game, 5th row center ice behind the bench! It was a awsome night....so far. Well Im on my way back to my g/f's place about to drive into a seceret place kinda thing to do what ever... and my car just dies on me...It was just idleing away I had the clutch pushed in. So I try to start it and I can hear that theres no compression anymore.... :headache: So I end up parking it and my g/f's mom came and picked us up since I was so far from home I just stayed the night there(which was great) but still my car was f-cked So about a hour later I get a phone call from my mom saying, Hey the rockford county sherif is saying your car is parked illegaly(spellin?) So I had to go and move my car...So was moved it into a parking lot)by this time it was the 22nd(my birthday). Well later that day around 3 my friend Picked me and my girl up and we went and looked at it and I tried turning her over just to see in the day light what might be wrong with it...turns out when Im turning over my car my cam's aren't spinning :fworld: :headache: :headache: so Then I had to rent a tow dolly and take my dads truck and pick it up. Well when i went to pick it up I had no help to move it so that sucked. The only way I could get it on the dolly was to put it in 1st gear and ride the starter up the ramps wich thank god worked. So I tied her down and took one last look at it in dissapointment and drove her home. So now I get to start in and find out whats happen. The belt still has tention its not snapped. Im thinking a keyway was shered off or some of the teeth in the belt are gone. eather way Im praying since it was idleing when it died that none of my valves were bent. So Idk I just needed to vent and get that out It was a very dissapointing b-day minus spendin it with my girl. Now i get to spend some more money on my car....oh well It was time for a headgasket anyways.
:dsmrule: ...sometime

Everything in life has ups and downs, just have to look on the positive side of the thing.
Sorry to hear about your car, hopefully it's nothing too major.

i had the same thing happen to my eclipse. all the teeth around the crank pulley just stripped off or sumthin. so the car would crank over, but it sounded like it had no compression, and the cam gears didn't move. Ended up having 3 broken valves, and needed new pistons because of the damage the valves did to them. Hopefully yours isn't like mine, but be prepared for the worst man.

there is a couple of dowels between the cams and cam gears that shear fairly easily....but usually that happens cus something seized...
or somehow the belt got stripped around the crank pulley

same thing happened to a new mitsu timing belt on my other car. there is a service bulletin about that happening. it said something about certain belts being stripped by the crank pulley.
