damaged pistons?

I got some 1g turbo pistons that have some damage on the top from valves slapping them, I heard this can cause pre mature ignition. Is that true?

Re: damaged pistons?

It can cause a hot spot on the piston due to the irregulaity and sharp edge.
It could have also cracked the piston. Best bet is to attempt to take down the sharp spots and make sure the piston isn't cracked.

I checked the pistons and there not cracked. Do you think it would be safe to put them back in?

You could probably use them but I am sure someone here has some stockers laying around that you could buy for cheap. Then there is no doubt.

Re: damaged pistons?

Why take the chance? Get some 2g pistons or Weisco's.
