Wheel Bearing

So, I have been informed that my wheel bearing is bad. Actually, I knew that for a a short while now, but I've been informed that its REALLY bad. So I was wondering if anyone could help me replace it? I've heard it takes some special tools and I really don't want to take it to a shop, though I will if I have to. I will buy the parts, and if anyone is willing to help, dinner and/or money are in order for this person. Thanks!

Re: Wheel Bearing

Well i've done it before and i'd prefer to not do it again unless i absolutly had to, its not hard to do it just takes time, i used a gear puller and pushed out the hub then we used sockets on the end of the gear puller to push the bearings out, then use the old bearing to push the new ones on. You could have a machine shop use there press to get it in and out of the knuckle, that would prob only cost a couple presses, but on the down side it would take a day or so.

Re: Wheel Bearing

Sometimes, I've found it's just better to take it somewhere. When I just don't have the tools for something or can't deal with it I take my 2g to this specific CarX because I really trust the manager there. They always do exceptional work and my whole family goes there and prices are fairly reasonable:

CarX
1399 Town Centre Dr # 1
Eagan, MN 55123

They manager's name is Herb, hes awesome. Have him take a look at it and he'll give you a straight up answer. I'm actually going there tomorrow to get some electrical stuff done; I can meet you there if you want.

Good luck.

Re: Wheel Bearing

Yeah Tauni I asked the Balla mechanic's at my work if they wanted to do a side job, and they all said no lol. But you need to get that fixed ASAP, you honestly shouldn't be driving the car like that! It might end up costing you more, with either a tow call needed, a trip to the hospital... or maybe even your life!!!!!!! DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN. Yeah, so uh, get that shit fixed.

Re: Wheel Bearing

Yah I'm driving my bro's car for now because he is out of town. I guess I'll just wing it for the next two weeks and take it in next pay day.

Zaki, thanks for the tip! Thats right down the street from one of my jobs so I'll probably head in that direction! Thank you!

Re: Wheel Bearing

What else did he do for the $200? I could have it done for about $150 most places including parts.
