Got Me A New Helmet Bag Last Nite!

We went to the awards ceremony last nite for the Land O Lakes region SCCA and I got my award for placing first in open stock in rallycross this season. It is a sweet new helmet bag!!!! They had the SCCA LOL region logo embroiderred on it as well as our first name, place of finishing and racing class. It's black with brown fur lining on the inside. I was expecting a shirt or something but I never thought they would get us helmet bags! That was just friggin' awesome!!!!

The banquet was awesome!! The food was great and they had an open bar for the first hour. There were alot of awards given out also. It was just so cool to see everyone getting recognized for their accomplishments. Everyone in the club is so down to earth you could just walk up to them and start talking to them and they would treat you like they've known you for 15 years.

I encourage anyone that is interested in racing to at least go to a few SCCA events and see what goes on. They have solo2 (autocrossing), road racing, performance rally (ProRally, Club Rally and Rallycross), road rally (TSD-Time Speed Distance) along with others. They have general membership meeting each month open to the public. They are always at the auto show in march with an open house general membership meeting shortly after. If you ever want info, you can pm me or I'm sure the others on this board that are members of SCCA would welcome questions as well. If they want to name themselves, I will let them. But I think most of you know who they are. Some are on the SCCA LOL board of directors, some are organizers of events and most of them are competitors. It's not expensive and you can get alot of tips from some of the competitors that have been doing this for many years (even decades!!!).

Congrats on the helmet bag. I took dead last in my class for clubrally and an impressive 0 points for rallycross. I need to get faster/finish more. I wish I would have been able to go but I had to go to Dallas at the last minute. I second the notion of how cool all of the SCCA mambers are at the meetings. I alway look forward to going when I can.

You can watch me drive AND you could drive in it yourself (not in my car but in yours). That's the beauty of it. This is purely amateur racing.

Wuss!!! Actually that's probably a good idea. Check out some of the rallycross vids in the off road section. There are three of them in there with one even having an incar cam shot.

Terina is actually thinking about racing this year also!!!!
