Brown santa strikes again!

No big turbos here, but I did just get a pretty sweet fuzz buster! I've always been a fan of the Valentine One, and now I have one! I haven't owned one of these things for almost 8 years, finally I can speed again!

I wired it in directly and mounted near the rear view mirror. I wanted it up out of the way, but not so high that I couldn't see it or have it be not as effective. I'll try it like this for a few days & see how I like it.

Yeh, you could speed again if you get your DSM off its jack stand perch!

I was not there. So, how did you do? I was looking at the Valentine One also not for speeding, but to keep me a wake at night when I drive home. I see about 4 - 8 law enforcement officers on my way home everynight. How much did you spend and where dd you get it from? Oh did I for get to say NICE.

A friend of mine has one that is a couple of years old and swears by it. He claims that there is nothing better and will never go with anything else.

Looks nice, let us know how it works.

I dunno if i showed you sheides, but i have mine hardwired in too, and i installed it above the mirror..completely out of the way. I can still hear it, and see the lights flickering on it. my only issue is that it's just a regular radar, and not a nice valy1 like yours..

Re: Brown santa strikes again!

yea, my car has a bit of tint near the top edge, so I have the front-facing sensor sitting just below it (note the third pic above). The rear-facing sensor (go v1!) looks out clear over my shoulder and head. I really just wanted to use the visor-mount, but b/c the roof is angled, it made the front-facing sensor array point downward and the rearward facing one point right into the roof. Not so good!

I didn't see yours, swift, I'll have to check it out!

If anyone's interrested in picking one up, go straight to the source:

I'm honestly not a super huge fan of fuzz busters, but normally I only drive about 4 miles into downtown for work. I will be driving a lot further now, so I figured I was about 5-10x more likely to get in trouble, so I better do what I can to cover my ass!

Or save yourself a $100 and go here:

These V1 detectors are spendy, but really are the best, right now I run a newer Bell unit that's a level or two down from this V1, but it's worked out quite well for 1/2 the price of a V1. Saved my ass over and over and have been ticket free for over 10 years! <Of corse my DSM's always broke so I can't speed anywhere anyway!>

yea, but all the used ones are v1.7 and well...used! For something like this, it's tough for me to spend that much money & buy something second hand, especially off of ebay. Plus I shopped for a whole 10 mins. Went to the site, ordered on friday, in my hands today, done and done. On with life!

Re: Brown santa strikes again!

i almost got the V1 but the unit is too big for me and i have 2 cars, one for pizza and the other is DSM, so i am equally as likely to get in trouble in both.
Instead i got the escort passport 8500 X50, in many reviews was either better or equal with the V1.
Good buy, let us know how that works for ya. oh, and nice to see someone spend money on something and do it the right way, i hate does damn radioshack fuzzies, they just beep a lot.
