Southern meets!
I decided to go ahead and make this thread because I didn't want to keep whoring up the Applebees thread with random southern happenings; plus I've been told people would start to travel south more often [since us southerners always travel north] when it gets warm again. So basically I'm going use this thread to let people know of random things happening down here, and when we start getting meets together down here, we'll use this thread!
So tonight I just wanted to let people know for anyone who might want to, a few of my friends and I are heading out bowling. We aren't sure which one we want to go to yet, since we need to check on leagues and what not, but it will either be Burnsville Bowl, Cedarvale, or Apple Place. Give me a call if you want to come and I will let you know which one we are going to. We should be heading out around 8 or 8:30.
My number is 651-238-0340 if anyone wants to come!

Re: Southern meets!
Im just curious but who said they would travel south? Maybe its just because a girl finally asked instead of me asking here and there Maybe we should find a new spot instead of KK in Maple grove this summer.... since there is already a meet at applebees thats up north.

Re: Southern meets!
Applebees is central, not north. But yeah, KK is pretty bad for you southern folks.

Re: Southern meets!
Applebees is North to us.
But M3Guy: I deffinately agree. I'm sure there's cheap shit to do down here. By the way, where are you located? Some places I was thinking were Perkins in AV or Eagan, Q-Sharks in B-Ville, Shooters in B-Ville, Bowling, more food..... who knows. Swanny and Shrep were thinking about it. I'm sure we can get a few more, and mke it fun!

Re: Southern meets!
well lets setup a tuesday "north" meet and a thursday "south" meet and come-up with a rotation.
I like the applebees, but I think if we switch it to a once a month, serious, dsmstyle meet...say at a pro-kart, bowling, etc...we would have more fun as a group.

Re: Southern meets!
I say once a month for the big things that cost more and where we are actually moving around and being active.
1. Most of us are lazy.
2. Most of us are broke.
3. It's fun to just sit, and not spend so much money. I look forward to getting away on Tuesday nights.

Re: Southern meets!
I dont really care if I have to drive 10 miles each way... but 30 miles 1 way to maple grove is a haul. KK was a good atmosphere though, I liked just chilling in the parking lot. I liked the weekly meets even though I didnt make it to all of them, but that was mainly because of the distance to kk.
There is an applebees in bloomington too, 2 of them actually We could have an applebees meet up north and a meet down here every other week haha. I dont know where a good meeting place would be in the south metro though, there is a nice perkins off 494 and 100 that is pretty central, more so than AV.
DSMers are cheap though so thats why nice cheap donuts worked well over the past summers haha.

No? There's one in Apple Valley though!
I'm game for a south meet - i'd actually go to a meet then.
Rosemount + anything above the cities = not worth it.

Nope I was talking about the one close to southdale mall right of 494 and 100, next to the circuit city.
Swanny- that sounds good, we just have to figure out what we want to do haha.

Haha, that should be the southern people's slogan
Sounds like there's a decent start to people who are game, I'm sure we could find others after the time/date/place is established. I'm in agreeance with most: Keep it cheap! I'm very "thrifty"

Considering that's right off some major highways, that doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Like I mentioned earlier, any place below the cities would work for me. AV, savage, eagan, bloomington...

I would love to go to some of these meets, but for me and my group Apple Valley/Burnsville is 45 mins North. Which is why for us, Applebees and Krispy Kreme are out of the question for us. So... Woot! for southern meets. Burnsville has TGIFriday's, AV has Perkin's and Red Robin. Those are all restaurants that I frequent in that area. So let's get something going for this weekend!

Re: Southern meets!
We've met at the Perkins in B-ville before. It's right off of Burnsville parkway and 35W. Although we all know how Swanny gets at Perkins, especially if Hughes shows up!!
I'd be up for some Pro-Kart sometime. We go bowling every friday nite in Rosemount at City Limits. We play poker every saturday nite in Farmington. If anyone is interested in hanging out with us, you're more than welcome to. I know I won't be able to make it up to too many northern meets because of how far south I am now.

Re: Southern meets!
This all sounds great! I didn't think this many people would even remotely take an interest! Once it warms up, we'll star thinking of more to do. Unless us southerners want to get it going now?

I am down with it!
I have always wanted to go paintballing, but all of my friends are way to lazy to run around in a field with guns. Just a thought.
