Looking For Some Help

Hello everyone. Just bought a 90 Laser RS-Turbo. It had a bad head, so I bought a new one. It runs, but, A) my timing is off a bit, and B) I don't have any boost.

This is my first DSM and know the basics of the DSM world. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out either tomorrow (the 12th), Tuesday (the 14), or Thursday (the 16th). I know you guys and gals know your stuff, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I might be able to help, its spring break and my uncle lives over there, need to visit him soon, do you know how to set the timing? its pretty easy. do you have a boost gauge? boost controller? get the chiltons repair manual, if you are gonna stay DSM you are gonna need one.

Re: Looking For Some Help

got the chilton, i have a mbc (not installed though), and no boost gauge yet. i know how to set it, however i had some trouble with the exhaust cam setting itself a little bit advanced. but the oil pump sprocket, the crank sprocket, and the intake cam all lined up where they were suppose to (i did manually crank the engine twice to make sure)

But yeah, any help would be great.

Re: Looking For Some Help

so was the exhaust cam one tooth too far advanced? (if its only off by one tooth, i think you will live)
Go buy a boost gauge, there is no way to proceed with out that, I can help you re-wire your vaccum lines so that they work, and you get boost.
Go pick up $10 worth of stock vaccum lines.
If you want do drive out to my place, we can work in my garage, its somewhat heated, and this week is my off week from school, so now i have free time
