Well the rims will not be black with a red lip, just one dark color (diamond black, gun black or gloss black) They arent supposed to match, (you dont see them match any STi or Nissan) this is a factory Brembo color, that's why I chose the color. So they look like factory Brembo brakes. Plus I think they will stand out more behind a dark wheel.

The problem there is I had to machine the backside of the caliper mounting tabs becaues these brackets bolt onto the other side. Each knuckle ends up being machined differentley because you never know how much you have to take off until it is totally flat. So each bracket is made to each specific knuckle. People would have to send in thier knuckles to be machines and brackets made to them.
The liabilities behind making these and machining someones knuckle could be huge. I am no engineer so who knows what could happen though I am sure mine will be fine.
For me to make up for the time it takes to make this kit and for the parts (front/rear calipers/rotors/lines/brackets) I figure this kit would cost $2000-$2500 and at that rate there are better kits out there for less money.

You had to machine the knuckle? What was machined?

So do you think that tiny hub centric ring might get damaged or melt or something?

Nope, if you think about it, when you use it on wheels, it is touching the rotor anyway. I guess in my mind if they are on the front or back side of the rotor shouldnt matter.
I guess with track time they could be exposed to significant heat, but dust boots/pistons seals dont melt. The wheel/wheel bearing also absorbs heat. We will see, I think they will be fine but if they are not, I will make a set out of aluminum.

You can see it here, the shiny metal on the caliper mounting tabs, stock brakes bolt onto the other side. The back side that you see here normally has steel casting flash around the bolt hole. I had to machine them flat so the aluminum bracket could bolt up on this side instead because the rotor has so much offset to get the caliper away from the wheel spokes.

Re: Brembo stopperz
Oooooo, I see. I didn't realize that bolt on from the other side.
Is there a reason you didn't put the head of the bolt on the aluminum side of the brackets?

Re: Brembo stopperz
Yeah, personally, I would have kept the brakes painted how they were/left the viper sticker on. Looks unique that way.

Re: Brembo stopperz
Maybe this is a stupid question but, won't the rotor move a little bit since the wheel studs are smaller than the holes? Eventually won't all that banging around cause issues?

Re: Brembo stopperz
Brake rotors always have play and are able to move around until the wheel is torqued on.

Im not sure I understand what you mean, are you talking about the bolt that holds the bracket to the knuckle or the stud that holds the caliper to the bracket?

Exactly, the rotor is centered, once the wheel is torqued on the rotor wont be able to move. The centering ring keeps it concentric so it doesnt matter where it is in relation to the studs when you put the wheel on

The bolt that holds the bracket to the knuckle. Uh nevermind. I'm thinking the KNUCKLE has threaded holes, but it doesn't. And you threaded the bracket. So nevermind.

Looks good. I like the idea of ditching the viper emblem. Your not drive a shop car so no need to have them labeled that way. I'll have to forward this on to Mark, he is working on another Syclone project...

Looks great. I was planning on doing a custom BBK on mine, then lost interest. Having a bridgeport has got to be nice, aluminum is a real pain to work with.
