Are you bringing the AWD Spyder this year, or just the 92?

We actually have about 50 DSMs signed up so far. Thats pretty good. 33 3/Ses and 24 EVOs. I'm excited to see that many EVOs, and really disappointed in the 3/S numbers.

I'm surprised to see so many EVO's, but yeah, the 3/S number seems low.

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

I went to Radio Shack with one of my hair brained ideas today. I wanted to buy a microphone that could plug into RCA inputs. Well they sell an adapter for it. I've got a 10 year old recevier and big Pioneer speakers that were collecting dust in my basement. So I've got a basic PA system now for the Cookout. W00t! No need for FRS radios this year.

The funniest thing is the guy that was helping me is a 2g DSM owner. So I recruited another car for the Cookout.

later,
Curt

Thanks for fixing that, I never bought one of those radio deals. Too much money for very little use. Conquest mentality for life!

This Sign that we have to put on our cars, are we supposed to put all our mods, or just a couple? Because my list went beyond one page. Or do people typically have 2 pages? I could play with the font sizes to get it on 1 page, but not sure what people typically do since this is my first time.

People do both, some just list the major mods some list every single little detail. I believe mine were usually two sheets.

Yep, either fit it in one page by shrinking the font, or make a second page. Both ways are fine. Just make sure the car number is still in the upper right. Thats what I assign to you the day of the show.

Curt

Can we modify the layout? All the info you want will still be on there, but If I can make my own layout then I can get it all to fit nicely on one page.

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

I have a question. I know that the price is $5.00 for myself, a guest and the car but what if say I bring another 1 or 2 guest along? How are you guys going to charge for that?

Oh yea, this is just an idea and it's up to you to think whatever but I was thinking if there was a spot on the car registration form where we can write down our screen name from this website b/c I hardly know anyone from this site and it would be nice to know who is who. Just an idea. I'll probably just edit the car registration form a little bit and put down my screen name.

I'd charge you another $5 for your two addtional guests. So all four of you would eat for $10. I'm using wristbands this year to show who has paid for food, so bring your guests up to the registration table.

Feel free to add your screen name to your car sign. I might add this to the sign in the future, but not for this year, since a lot of people have already printed it.

Oh, and just an FYI to everyone, looks like my website is down for the moment, so you won't be able to download the sign until its back up.

Thanks,
Curt

Go figure. Soon as I sign up and pay my money, work changes my schedule. I leave this Wednesday now. I need someone to drive my car there for me and win me a trophy!

So here's the deal. Since I sold my car and I won't have anything cool to bring to the meet, I'm driving my dad's Explorer. I can fit like 4 more people in it. So if anyone is interested, I'll be taxi-ing the DSMless up there. Let me know if you want to ride up there. It's for those with broken DSMs or who recently sold theirs.

Curt, let me know if you have any need for any more tables or a few chairs. I've got a few at home if needed.

Re: All Mitsubishi Cookout and Car Show -- August 19th, 2006

Hey everyone,

I've had a few hiccups with my website the last two days, and mn3s.org has been down. Its back up now. Thanks for your patience.

The All Mitsu Cookout is only four days away. At last check we had 142 cars signed up. But we still need more sign-ups!!

If you are planning on coming to the Cookout, remember these few things:

1) Sign-up online. The page is at:
http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe&id=4

2) If you have Paypal, send me your $5 registration to cgendon@mail.com (no credit cards please)

3) Fill out your car sign ahead of time. Download the sign at:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign.doc And my example sign can be found here: http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign-curt.doc

4) Print a map so you can find the Rogers Middle School. I'll have dunce caps ready for anyone who goes to the car museum by mistake.

5) Bring a lawn chair for hanging out on Saturday.

When you get to the Rogers Middle School on Saturday, pull into the first entrance at the stop light. This front parking lot is where the cars will be displayed. If you are just coming to spectate or you don't own a Mitsu, don't pull into the front lot. Take the next right and drive around the school to the back lot where the buses park. This lot is pretty close to the main lot and its not very far to walk.

We have eight classes for the Cookout and we have eight rows in the parking lot. So each class will have there own row. I'm not sure yet which category will be in each row, but it will be clearly marked when you get there on Saturday.

New this year is my homemade PA system. No need for FRS radios anymore. Prize announcing and trophies will be done with the PA system. Also, I'm gonna change the registration line. There will be two lines this year. A line for 3/Ses and DSMs, which I will do, and another line for the rest of the classes (Ross and Chris D will do). Hopefully this will speed up registration.

Can't wait,
Curt

Curt, I've got an actual PA unit with the proper XLR plug ins for a microphone. If you have a normal mic cable, this will work better than adapting through RCA's. I can certainly bring it along if you've got the speakers. In fact, we've probably got enough members on here to make a band for some event music. I've bought a drum set and a bass from members on here.
