Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9
So, 56lb wheel on the red. And judging by the pic below, I'd say it uses the same hotside as the green, and oh, did I mention it's STOCK APPEARING?
Red, white, and green:
edit: nevermind, bigger hotside...check the difference in this pic:
Also could be pushing 60 lbs/min out of this sucker based on these numbers...

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9
So when is one of these things going on the evo?
If you are going that big, might as well go with a standard or hta 35r!

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9
38psi and VP Import!!!!!!!! Probably cost more for the fuel than the turbo.

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9
it's $1800, hta35r kit would be $3500 or so. With that cost difference, I could buy the new rods, pistons, and whatnot I'll need after owning this thing for a while
Trust me, I want one, but it needs to see more time in the 'real world' before I'll buy one....that and the evo NEEDS a drop and a timing belt job before it needs more power

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9
Just found out, the compressor wheel on the red is the same 76HTA compressor wheel found on FP's HTA3076R turbo. Pretty spiffy! Seen plenty of good numbers out of that turbo that's for sure!

Re: FP RED for evo 8 & 9
Curt Brown made this overlay of the same car w/ green and now red. This car has a different IM, electric water pump, and a few other things, but other than that this turbo looks like it yields a decent amount of power after 5500rpms with only a few hundred rpms of lag/threshold on teh bottom end:
