As a follow up to our recent round of testing we decided to bring in another car and test every exhaust manifold upgrade that we offer for the Evo 8 & 9 platform I do not know the ins and outs of this car (perhaps Jake can chime in) but I do know that its on E85 with an FP Black and supporting mods (with the exception of the intake manifold). We set the boost level to 27psi and the only changes to the tune were made to bring AFR's back in line, enjoy!
The peak gains here aren't all that exciting but there were some promising results in the mid range (+13whp +10ft/lbs with .5psi less boost) and spool improved as well. Please note the peak boost figure is a small spike around 4500, the rest of the boost curve is nearly identical.
Again, the peak gains here aren't outrageous but the mid range gains (+29whp +22ft/lbs) are substantial and spool hasn't suffered one bit! At just $449.99 shipped the horsepower per dollar ratio is hard to beat!
Our last round of testing featured our in-house fabricated "long runner" tubular exhaust manifold. Based on other tubular manifold test results we expected this manifold to significantly improve top end power with a negative impact on spool characteristics, needless to say we were pleasantly surprised
As you can see spool characteristics were very similar to the stock manifold and power output was nearly identical prior to 4500rpms. Peak gains were impressive at +23whp +12ft/lbs but once again the mid range gains (+41whp +31ft/lbs) are where exhaust manifold upgrades really shine!
Conclusion
Ultimately, I'm very happy with the outcome of this testing as I still feel there will be a market for all three of these great products. I would have liked to compare these manifolds at a higher boost level with an aftermarket intake manifold as I feel the performance gains would have been even greater, but that will have to wait until next time. I hope this testing makes your exhaust manifold decision a little easier!

Wow, that's better than I expected. I might have to scrap my stock appearing theme just a bit.
This was the one thing I have really caved on, never thought I'd be running a tubular manifold on a DD but the build quality is fantastic now-a-days. Nice job MAP!

Ported stocker seems like a solid investment of you're on a tight budget. But considering how this manifold spooled and gained up top/mid I would say it's worth every penny.
The construction is amazing, and it quieted down my "tick" as opposed to my former thinner metal manifold. When I checked out the flanges and the ported transitions to the runners it was evident that they put a mind-blowing amount of time and thought into this manifold.
