A Full Day
So today I tackled putting on my suspension stuff. I installed my Ksport coilovers, just the rear suspension techniques sway bar, and the ingals engineering rear control arms, put redline heavy duty shock proof in the 4bolt, and one stainless brake line. yes, one I couldn't get the sway bar endlinks off the old sway bar, and evey place doesnt have them so I can't comment on handling yet. The car is on the second from stiffest dampening setting and its nice and stiff. I put the Ksports at their Highest setting, and to my surprise the car was super low at that height, and just right. And then I remembered what a pain in the ass it is to fill the rear end fluid. Oh, and to top things off I nearly died because one of my brake lines got severed as I was driving home and I couldnt stop at a quickly approaching red light... That was a near death experience haha. The master cylinder was empty, I felt the lines around the car and found that one of the lines somehow got into harms way (i relocated them) and was cut. Luckily, I had a set of stainless lines with, and I limped back and replaced the bad line and bled the brakes quick. Was a full day of stuff, but a good time, and the car looks badass with its new ride height! I am very happy with the Ksports.

Kickass, dude. It's unfortunate that more people don't understand how great it is to have a car that handles well, or at least better than stock. You'll have to give me a ride at the next event so I can feel this suspension.

Wow, thats scary stuff, having your brakes go out like that, I'm glad you were OK. how did you end up getting home?
Anyone know what the off the shelf spring rates are for K-Sports?

Re: A Full Day
How stiff is the ride? The spring rates are up there, that is the main thing holding me back.

Because your car is a daily driver, right?

Re: A Full Day
More so than your car! I drive mine to work a few times a week. My car is also light, so somewhat stiff springs on a stock weight car become bone jarring in my car! The setup I have now isn't bad, but I would like height adjustability.

Re: A Full Day
My free alignment fell through on saturday, and sunday, and today.... On Sunday (yesterday) I lowered the rear another 1/2" and I replaced the rest of the lines with my Earl's stainless lines. I have to say the pedal feel is awesome with these things, the pedal feels nice and firm/solid the whole way down. The first day I drove with the K sports on the 1 setting away from the hardest it was kinda rough. It sat overnight, and now its not that bad at all. It's stiff, so you get a little bounce over some stuff but its actually kinda comfortable. Also, on the ride height: My Ksports are at their highest setting, and that alone drops the height about perfect. I just had to lower the rears just a bit to match the front. I'm pretty sure these units are lighter than OEM, so that helps reduced some unsprung weight. The rear camber arms are definately nice, I'd say they are NEEDED with Ksports or else the rear camber would be SO negative. I am a little worried about too much Toe In. But oh well. I tried to get pics on Sunday, but the camera's batterys were dead. Should be up soon.
