Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
I will just chime in and say don't get the 3G Eclipse seats. They are not all that comfortable. I can't speak to the others.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
How much are you looking to spend? 500-600 for the pair max?
Aftermarket doesn't necessarily mean less safe. How are you going to do the seat belts? No idea how a stock sc300 seat is setup, if the buckle or lower mount is on the seat itself or to the car. That can make a difference in what seats you can choose. Are you going to make custom mounting brackets for those seats to fit your car?

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
What you listed are good options. Few more: +1 s2000, RSX type-s seats, supra seats

Yeah probably that at the max.

Agree, but aftermarket, safe, and comfortable (reclinable) start to get more expensive compared to say a pair of Celica seats for $400.

There are brackets for mounting Evo seats. Otherwise yes custom brackets. I'm pretty sure the belt buckle is mounted to the seat but not sure. All stuff I can figure out as I go though.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
Evo IX seats; basically the same as Evo VIII seats, but not ugly blue fabric. The base IX seats are black suede with black leather bolsters. I do not care for the SSL leather seats from the VIII/IX. The Evo X leather quality is much improved, but they're heavier due to side impact airbags which I'm guessing you do not want.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
Yeah. If I got anything with side airbags, I may attempt to remove them. There's actually a write-up on how to remove them from the RX8 seats. Kerry put 8 seats in his supra, died the blue part black, looked decent i thought. I'll look into 9 seats though.
If anyone on here has some seats for sale, please let me know what you got! I'd even rock some 1G seats maybe, haha!

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
If you're interested I have some crazy clean tan cloth 1g seats. I've had them bagged for the past two years or so. Could probably use a shampoo to freshen up dust/smell wise but I've never really seen a set like them.

May seem lame but srt4's have nice seats too. I'm guessing they'd be cheap since its a neon

+1 for the SRT-4 seats. They hold your ass like Elton John.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
Out of all listed, the Evo and SRT4 seats look the best oem. Those eclipse 3g seats dont look great for the price.
BMW 3 series sport seats would be an option too, nice leather but would be more money probably for a nice set. BRZ/FRS Seats look like a decent option too for cloth, around 300 each though.
Are you planning to recover them in tan leather to match your interior? Looks pretty tough to find oem tan that matches.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
I bought a set of used Corbeau seats that were really comfy, I think it was around $400 for the pair.
But if you go OEM, Evo or SRT4.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
Good call Steve, lol!
Color I'm not concerned with. I'm getting these as part of my interior conversion that I'll likely be doing this winter. Plan is to convert the interior to black with black replacement pieces, as well as using dye & SEM. The seats I'm not certain yet but they will either be black, or be that kind of darker brown like you sometimes see on Bimmer's (black and brown interior, like Aarons old bimmer). So I guess black seats are ideal, but if they aren't black it's OK because they'll either be re-upholstered or dyed.
Let me know how much for the 1g seats. I'll look into the SRT4 seats. Seems like an OK option, they look really bland though in that picture. Maybe I need to see them in person.
Personally so far I'm liking the Celica seats. Evo seats are nice, but for the money seems like you get fairly beat up looking ones for cheap, spend a bit more for decent shape. Maybe worth it though, just have to weigh my options.

Re: Replacement Seat Ideas for SC300
Rosey, I looked into RSX seats, but they didn't really seem all that light so I kind of crossed them off my list. DO you know if they made any manual ones that weigh say < 40lbs?
