EVO5

hey guys if this been covered please don't flame me for it lol i used the search but me and search don't work well together. so doing a evo5 swap. you get the 2000 mirage and aside the body kit you can swap a 4g63 in directly but if you want to go awd you use the awd system on the vr4 gallant. is this the process or basic of it?

Aren't they 15 years though? The Evo V was 1998.

Re: EVO5

^^ You can still get older ones, I talked to a few different companies when I was trying to find an Evo 3 transmission for my Talon, and some of them still have vehicles back to 1991-92 the way it looks.

Be careful with some of these companies though, I'm sure some of them are scammers, so I always called them on the phone to make sure they were who they said they were.

Re: EVO5

I believe that the Evo V uses the same motor as the VIII. AKA not the DSM 4g63, and also most definitely not the same rear end and subframe as a GVR4.

Correct, 4-8 all used the same motor, then the 9 is basically the same, but with MIVEC.

this.

I'm seriously considering doing this once I get a pay raise. Well worth my investment to do so. Seeing a REAL 3,4 and 5 in Thailand was just to insane to see in real life.
I saw one build of an Evo 4 or 5 on the internet floating around somewhere but damn, there is alot of money, energy, time and knowledge put into that build and I would have only done it if I had all four of those items. The 4g63 from the DSMs definitely aren't structured the same as the 5s because as everyone else has mentioned above, it's different. The rear end from a 5 and GVR4/DSM is totally different. I'm guessing a 5 rear end would be at least similar to that of the Evo 8/9s here in the states.
