Well after a week down, car is back on the road thanks to Ron@ RS Motors!
Started off by installing my walbro 400 pump:
Switched back to e85 and did testing since the weather was so nice and the car just RIPS:
I'm *very* excited about having more fuel, the car will at the very least see more boost this year (on the BBX) and I'm hopeful to put a larger snail under the hood if the rest of the car holds together.....That was fun for about a week and then I found a huge puddle on the floor of my garage, a crack in the trans case. Diff pins decided to eject themselves:
They wore a hole through the case, thus the puddle on my floor:
Four new pins from Shep and a few fresh bearings later, the trans was re-assembled. Ron banged this out lickity-split for me and I am very thankful! It would have been much faster if we didn't have to wait for parts but that's the nature of issues like this.
All four pins were broke, but luckily all pieces were found and NO damage to the rest of the trans! If I hadn't noticed that puddle that night I think I would be out an extra $3k for a trans, weeks of downtime I'm sure, blah I don't wanna think about that! It shifts like buttah now though so I'm confident that everything is indeed healthy.
The car also got a fresh ACT HDG6 clutch as the old one was worn down to the rivets. Last summer at Proving Grounds the clutch was slipping baaaaad at the end of day 1 and I discovered my fork stopper needed to be adjusted to accommodate for plate wear. I think it was too late though, the damage was done. I did get another 6k miles out of it and probably could have gotten another 5-10k of DD but since it was already apart, I made the investment to do it right...I plan on doing more drag and a lot more DD with this thing.
Time for more miles and smiles!
