Re: My Talon
Some pics of my new o2 housing that I had vbands welded on.
Some coolant parts I had powder coated, the 90 N/T thermostat housing and waterpipe (I had to dent the pipe a bit to clear my turbo's compressor cover).
That's the new Tial MS-V 38mm vband wastegate

That thing is going to be CLEAN! Progress pictures ftw, can't wait to see what it makes. Makes me wish I was ordering a bunch of cool parts and stacking them up like you.

Our O2 housing issue
So did you just modify the o2 housing you bought to have a larger inlet port for that BEP outlet port?

Re: My Talon
Why do you have a flex pipe on the wg?

Re: My Talon
I'd assume because it's a V-Band connection and it's nice to have a little flexibility in there for ease of installation. Mine is all solid with now flex, but a small flex in there would make install a hair easier.

This is a made-in-china special from ebay ($95 shipped). I had my friends at Primo chop of the wastegate flanges it came with, and weld on my v-bands for my Tial.
This o2 housing is way closer matching than my old ebay 2.5" wastgate, it's not perfect but its a significant difference.

I didn't put it there, someone in China did.
It's nice because that little flex (it's really not flexible at all) helps getting the wastegate on and off.

Re: My Talon
Next up is some ceramic coating, I wanted silver (Looks only like Jet-Hot silver would work), but normal silver will burn off so I'm stuck with Turbo X black (Booo!). I just thought silver (not gaudy) would make the metal stuff look like "new metal" stuff, where as I see the black stuff over time turning more of a gray and looking like pooh.

Re: My Talon
well turns out the V-band on my o2 doesn't exactly fit up with the nice one I ordered for my downpipe, so I'm gonna chop off the shitty vband and have a new nice one welded on.
THEN everything will get coated...

Re: My Talon
Ordered a Hallman Pro MBC, STM oil cooler kit, and a fuel pump rewire kit, and a 4" ID 9" long K&N filter. I can't wait to put all this crap on!
Anyone use AN lines for vaccum/boost?

It looks cool, and I'm kinda sick of zip ties.
I got the filter from Summit, $47 plus $9 shipping (boo).
Some progress pics: I installed my Bluemax injectors and fuel rail both from FIC!
Also put on my powdercoated N/T waterpipe and thermostat housing, a Mitsubishi thermostat kit and radiator cap.

No, actually lol
I know Alex from Map was making what, 550 with the stock IM?
I may change that later, just wasn't planning on it anytime soon.

Re: My Talon
You can make good power on the stock 1G IM, it just usually won't hold it nearly as well in the upper RPMs. It can be the difference between having 550whp at 6500rpms and then the power dropping at a decent rate versus having 550hp from 6500rpms out to 8500rpms flat.
