Do it!! The only regret you'll have is wishing you'd have done it sooner

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
I just feel like I would have to go way out of my way to fill up. I don't pass any e85 stations on my way to or from work. Definitely would like to but seems like a hassle.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Dude, we have more e85 than any other state! To drive an extra mile or two to fill up is definitely worth the extra 100hp!

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Well, today I pulled the fuel pump to do a complete rewire. I found a Walbro 190 not a 255 like I thought I had in the tank. So I put the rewire on hold until I pick up a new pump.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Ok I ordered a 255hp fuel pump, went ahead and did the rewire at the connector. When I get the new pump, I'm going to rewire it down to the pump and run a new fresh ground from the pump.

Hah wow, wonder if that's the one I installed way back when. I didn't go with a full 255 because it wasn't a race car (LOL) and I wanted to keep it simple on the street.

Yeah not sure, oh well. Glad I handle this before going in for a tune. It was pretty loud and since I was told it was a 255 I never questioned it. But I can't believe I didn't do this earlier, especially the rewire.

Why the line from tank to rail?

Since I've started driving the car there has always been a fuel smell but no major fuel leaks. I finally got around to fixing it, it turned out I had a few issues. The sending unit had no gasket and half the studs on top are broken off. Also, the hose section was seeping at the crimps. I decided to just replace it all and make it look better too.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Ah, good call. Yea when the car got parted I didn't recall what pump went back in. I thought I had a 255 before I went to the double pumped setup? When parting a car, fixing bad gaskets and such aren't really top priorities, I just wanted to get rid of everything.
Anyways, glad you got it all sorted out and are doing things the right way! This thing is def headed in the right direction.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Install of the EGT gauge and sensor was a breeze thanks to a previously tapped manifold I bought from Carltalon a few months back. The fuel pressure gauge install went well too, except it reads 10psi high. I contacted prosport and ill be measuring the resistance of the sensor tomorrow to test it. I like the how the gauges are either white (daytime), or blue (nighttime). I wired them so they come on white, I hit the fog light switch to change to blue.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Also, my brand new Prosport fuel pressure gauge reads 10psi high, I tested the resistance of the sending unit and was out of spec. Prosport shipped a new sending unit today.
