LOL @ bean field. Glad it wasn't anything harder that you ran into.

Why do you think the spoiler being higher would help? To get more air to it? I would think if you increased the angle to get more airflow across it, it would help keep the rear end down at higher speeds.

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

It's below the roof line, in this slow/turbulent air going across the flat rear deck. Raising it up 2" into clean airflow will really add some downforce. Several wind tunnel tests done to show how poor the low stock height is for functionality.

OR, I could do a fastback conversion for mega bucks though:

Forgot to mention, it ate up maybe 1/3 qt of oil in 4 sessions, so 80 minutes of racing. In my last session on the long left sweeper I noticed my oil pressure would flicker as I got into the higher rpms exiting the turn. I was told to be careful on long lefts because they can oil starve. It was at the min line on the dipstick. So next time I have to bring oil with to top off between sessions, and I decided I'm going to do the oil pan baffles mod.

Do you have a catch can full of oil or is it burning oil?

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

Anyone overfill a quart when tracking those? Reasonably common to do so on other makes. Not for oil consumption, but for oil starvation due to sloshing etc (no baffles).

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

I bet those bean plants were softer than tires and concrete. Going off is a learning experience for sure.

Oil pan baffles are definitely a good plan if there's a starvation risk and they are fairly available.

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

Well, it turns out I have the latest model oil pan (there were a couple revisions), and mine already has a bunch of baffles, I just need to keep it at the full line and there should be no problems.

I have figured out my winter plans. Going to convert from the standalone MBE ECU to a Ford ECU, should improve driveability, this is what the Rossions came with, I just need a couple parts and the Rossion harness for the conversion. Going to Ohio sometime next Spring to do the conversion over a weekend. Also going to upgrade the GT28R's to the newer billet GTX2860 compressor wheels, should allow for more power since the GT28's top out around 18psi/500whp.

Also converting to E85 to max out the turbos and hoping for around 22psi and 550whp. I think I'll be the first Noble on E85, most of them have an aluminum tank, but I have an E85 safe fuel cell and all SS fuel lines so it should only require larger injectors, maybe swap out to my E85 filter as well.

550whp?!?!? That's going to be back to the future fast. Definitely want a ride in it.

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

Oh, new diffuser installed too. I think it looks pretty sweet. Much better than some of the lotus ones that extend way back with huge fins.

Also installed an OMP Superquadro steering wheel, but I don't think I'm going to keep it. It's a bit smaller, but the bad part is the top is much shorter and blocks the tops of the gauges. I think I will probably get a Momo Mod 80 Evo in suede, which is very similar to the stock one, but slightly better grip and suede instead of leather.

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

Agreed on aero being hawt but expensive. Fortunately the diffuser was cheap because I helped the company make the Noble prototype and organized the group buy.

Next aero mods are some vortex generators, higher wing mount, and smaller profile carbon mirrors.

Totally different subject, it's super easy to get a kit car title in Iowa. I've heard many horror stories of NY and CA where you have to wait months for all these forms to be filed to get an OBDII exemption, smog exemption, etc. Next Thursday I have an appointment with a DOT inspector, and from what I heard they mainly just check that you have lights, seat belts, mirrors, etc, and then just want to talk about cars for awhile haha. Should have my Iowa plates in a few weeks, good bye sales tax money

Re: 2006 Noble M400 #141

Big plans for the winter. A guy who builds/tunes these cars in Ohio is selling his entire setup and doing an LS swap. I purchased everything but the motor/trans from him, including two BW EFR 6258 turbos (rated 44 lbs/min each), full 3" v-band exhaust, 60lb injectors, full wiring harness + ford ecu, etc. This is from his personal car, so I know everything is in great shape.

The turbos have way more power capability than the stock GT28R's, with slightly quicker spool, win-win. The standalone MBE ecu that came on the Noble doesn't have the best street manners, the Ford ecu conversion should help a lot in this regard. This is what the Rossion Q1 comes with (the now US-made equivalent of my car), so it's all plug-n-play for the ECU conversion.

He is currently packaging it all up and sending it next week, I'll take a bunch of pics when I get everything, plus the install of course. Setup should be good for around 500whp on 16psi. Easily capable of over 650 with e85 and fuel upgrades if I ever decide to get crazy.
