Holy crap who are you and what have you done with Aaron?

DH, no harm in that man, it is just extra conservative! Definitely get it tuned though, too little timing and too rich AFR can be a bad thing too.

I want to replace the fucker! Unfortunately the whole system is built around it. I'm welding it now... until it breaks again

Re: GSXTACY

Tubular manifolds were a nice idea, but never very good in practice, unless you go bawls out for a Shearer or comparable quality piece.

Re: GSXTACY

It's a South Florida Performance (SFP) manifold. Fortunately they are now out of business but as I understand it they used to be the shit back "in the day". My buddy Nate is welding it up now. I'm sure it will eventually crack again, I just don't want to spend $1k on redoing the exhaust setup right now...

Re: GSXTACY

I bet an fp race manifold and fp O2 housing would be cheaper and more durable than getting another tubular manifold if this one doesn't work out. It is a DSM flange turbo with the wg off the exhaust side of the turbo right?

Re: GSXTACY

SFP was fairly popular a long time ago, but I've seen several of their mani's crack so I'm not too surprised. Bummer it happened to you. Rewelding should hold it for awhile, until you can hopefully find a better, more permanent solution.

Re: GSXTACY

I love my sls manifold that I got from Halon! If you decide to go tubular I recommend it but you would spend a lot of money setting up your exhaust a it sits farther away from your motor and 9 times out of 10 the nice tubular manifold don't come in stock dsm flange..

Re: GSXTACY

We welded it back up and got it installed later on in the afternoon on Saturday. The welds Nate put on there are the prettiest thing about that stupid manifold, lol.

Then, I apparently forgot to tighten down the turbo flange bolts and 2 fell out tearing the gasket and creating a huge exhaust leak. It turns out that the lock washers were so crushed they weren't doin' a whole lot of locking, so I put 4 new ones on. I got a new gasket, tightened it down and now it's good.

NOW I'm having a problem with my Tial EWG (38mm) sticking partially open and causing boost pressure to be super inconsistent (this was happening before but the cracked manifold took precedence). I've already bypassed the boost controller so I know it isn't the Greddy solenoid.

Then, when I was coming back to my shop to try and clean the WG, I ran out of E85. LOL. FML. My gas gauge read 1/4 full but obviously not.

What a fun weekend!

Re: GSXTACY

Well I figured out my boost problem... I had 2 WG springs in (a .9 bar and a .6 bar). They must have been rubbing/binding. I removed the small .6 bar spring and now it holds boost perfect at 15PSI. I'm just going to hook up my Greddy Profec and run 15PSI daily for "low boost" and 25 for high.

Any idea what would cause that? It's really odd that it'd just happen.

Re: GSXTACY

Probably just time and temperature, I think he had them both in there to have base boost at 20+ psi.
