Unfortunately "not breaking the law" just doesnt cut it. Especially in burnsville, but i've had trouble in hopkins and other areas.
I was on my way home from work one night at 3am, going down 169 at the speed limit with no other traffic in sight to speak of. A state highway patrol decided to ride my ass about 3 ft off my bumper with his brights on for a good 5 or 6 miles.
I was driving in hopkins on 169 in the beater that I had just bought when 2 cars went by me going 65+. There was a cop on the side of the road with a radar gun, so he pulled out to go after them. Saw me and apparently said "fuckit, wouldnt want to chase down those speeders lets see what we have here". pulls me over and the convorsation goes a little like this:
"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
"No"
"You really dont know why?"
"I have no idea"
"Are you SURE you dont know why I pulled you over?"
"I'm sure"
"well your tabs are expired"
Bought my tabs that day, and hadnt put them on yet. Im SURE he was able to see that from the side of 169, his radar gun in hand, clocking the two cars passing me.
The BEST experience I have ever had with a cop believe it or not was when he actually gave me a ticket. I WAS breaking the law, going too fast. He was a nice guy and treated me respectfully. Thats one good experience, 6 bad. Yeah, I'm a little biased against em.
