There is a place in Robbinsdale called "High Risk Insurance", that is the name of the company, I guess they deal through Progressive.

What i said is true give or take a few tickets. Last time I was in court the city attorny showed me my record and said "This is why I can't let you off easy." I was trying to get out of another bullshit speeding ticket in my truck and two tickets on my wheeler. (driving on city greenway "whatever the hell that is" and no proof of insurance.

Anyway I got my licence back on the 18th but it gets revocked again on the 10th.

It is hard for me to get insurance. I used to go through a high risk company called Claredon National. I paid around 5400$ a year until they kicked me off.

It turns out that is the best thing that could ever hapen to me because then my bank sent me a letter telling me to prove i have insurance or they were going to put it on and charge me. They said it was more money than normal insurance. But it turns out it wa only 1200$ a year.

The only downfall was that I still needed liability to drive the car but it was still a lot cheaper. I get all of my liability insurance through Progressive. They give me a good deal. The only weird thing about that is my girlfreind would pay up the ass through them and her record is clean. The agent said its all how the computer reads the numbers. I think he needs a new computer.

I think the next new member we need on here it the ST Paul Chief of Police. LOL Wouldn't that be a fucking Riot.
How about Minneapolis Cheif of Police. If Bill Jones is still the chief I could run it by him. I used to fly RC helicopters with him. He's actually a funny guy. And pretty cool about the law.

Normally I'd be like sure but I think most of us would prefer that no cops are made aware of our sites. Especially with the type of stuff some of us talk about.

I honestly think it would be a good idea if we didn't have people making thread with topic names as this one. It's disrespectfull, and makes us look like morons. I'd hate for the word to get out that anyone with a DSMStyle.com decal is up to no good and hates cops.

I agree with you guys 100%. That will give DSM owners all over the place a bad name/rep. And will give us more of the negative attention.

are you guys talking about the speeding etc. and having a dsmstyle logo on that car?

Or are you refereing to this thread basically being used as a venting tool?

Personally it wasn't us that gave cops a bad name. I for one take full responsibility if I'm in the wrong. I've never gone into coart for something I know I did unless it's to see if I can have the ticket reduced (in the case of the ferrari insident. I was supposed to loose my license till I was 22, instead 600 ticket and no points on my license)

Funny thing is the guy that was right before me was a 60yr old man driving a stolen car, speeding in a residential, No insurance, not wearing his seat belt, tail gating, swerving, his 2nd offence in a month. And he was only fined $50.

My mother almost got sent to Jail for contempt. I was 17 or 18 at the time so she needed to be there. Any case she flipped at the judge when I got my sentance.

I dunno, you guys say that they put up with assholes so they have the right to be an asshole. I dont think this is true. If you can't handle the stress of your job, your in the wrong line of work. Being a cop is a job about people and if can't be personable and make good relationships right away...why do you work with people then? Sorry, i'm one with the power trip idea...i only have 4 tickets but have been pulled over 28 times, I'd say 20 of those have been complete bullshit and the cops know it and to make it worse, they arent even nice when they do it.

Since we are doing the complain about cops thing let me jump in here. While driving my Explorer this winter I had a run in with Ice and wind. Well needless to say my peice of crap high center of gravity explorer blew/slid into a count ditch. It ended up sideways going down the ditch and hit a plowed field stopped and tipped on its side.

So since the insurance would need a police report I called 911 with my cell and had a state piggy come help me. I was super nice to him and did everything he asked. He then called a tow truck for me and such. After the tow truck got there the trooper asked me to get in his car. So I sit down and he hands me a "failure to use due care" ticket.

Now this is what pisses me off. When he first got to the scene he said "sorry it took so long I stopped a mile back cause I saw another car in the ditch" Second thing "I only drove 40 mph out here due to road conditions" Third thing he never asked me how fast I was going.

So back in the car he says "I am giving you this ticket because you were obviously not driving the way you needed to be since you are the only one in the ditch" He then ask "and you must have been driving too fast which was how fast?" I tell him 30-35 mph which I was. He then blows it off as if I was driving faster than him.

So I get my court date or whatever and Im using my dad's Expidtion which is same thing only a bit heavier as my wrecked explorer. Same weather conditions arise the evening before court and worsen through the morning. So I call the court house and they say sorry sir you can either come and fight, pay and mail today, or get put in jail for failure to pay ticket. I was like BS

So in the memo of the check I wrote "for borrowing county's ditch"

-Tim

sorry so long but a great story indeed

Yep love it. It's all about the money these days. I think the government needs to institued something where Citizens can do something about police corruption, etc.

Like If I see a cop turn on his lights to go through an interesection then turn them off once he gets to the otherside. And there is no point to it other then he doesn't want to wait at the intersection.

Or things like Police cars speeding when he has no place to be. (meaning no call, etc)

I don't know how many times I'll be cruising home from work on 35W and I'll be doing the speedlimit and I'll see a cop come by about 5-10mph faster then I'm going. as well as he's in a Diamond Lane with no-one else in the car.

Hell if we can get a ticket for it I think they should also.

Same thing goes with not stopping to help someone in trouble. Someone once said that you can get in trouble for not stopping to help someone? if that's true don't you think a cop should also be held in the same regard as us.

I just don't see where they get off thinking they are above the law sometimes. I'd think they should be the "Example" of the Law.

Well the last big rain fall i was driving my truck on 610going west towards my house, well it is a hard hard rain and i'm in the truck so its easier for me than for the cop car, i was going about 45 because it was imposible to see!!!

I get this squad car pull up behind me flash his lights and i pull over he zooms by me, i was like ok, he needs to go to an accident or something.. so i speed up a little since the rain was letting up and i was able to drive faster etc etc.. i came up to him slowly going still below speed limit... he flashes his lights again like he was warning me or something.. i slow down a bit and stay 3 car lenghths behind him.. he slows down and looks at me and continues driving..
I got so pissed off about that was like WTF MORON.. so i follow him.. he goes thru red light with his lights on and pulls under the bridge and parks there. I wasnt in a hurry so i go off to the gas station fill up and i see another squad car pulling up to the first one... they pull out do an illegal U turn and go north on central. 2 minutes later i drove by the donut shop on 99th and central, the two squad cars were parked in front of it and 2 cops were laughing and walking into the shop..

I soo wanted to go in and ask him what all that was about because i want to know what did i do to his donut hungry little pig penis to have to exercise his stupid lights.. power on the road and not in the house?

I have a few friends that are police officers, both are great guys, i've never had much against police officers except for a few that have abviously been pricks..

When I lived in NY I saw it all the time. Matter of fact cops used to do things to get you to brake the law then they'd write you up tickets.

When I lived in NY, people would flash there high beams to either tell you:

1) your lights are off (if it was night time)

2) To tell you that your High beams are one

3) to warn you if a cop was up a head

Well in NY it's actaully against the law to flash someone your high beams, and to drive passed cars with your high beams on.

so what cops would do is drive around with there high beams on so that when you flashed them, they'd pull you over and give you a ticket.

At least here they haven't gotten that bad. (yet)

Another favorite,

Is for them to get in an Unmarked car and just ride your ass on the freeway when you speed up or what ever to get out there way they pull you over.

That goes along with my whole thing what applies to us should apply to them if we can get a tailgating ticket so should they.
