I know that it doesn't mean much in this thread. Jeremy made 564 whp this year on the green. Now he just has to get back up to MN :bounce:

Race gas, but low boost setting. He could almost run that boost on pump gas, but probably not that much timing. He said later he is only going to run 30 psi in the thing, but we'll see You should hear a lot more about the car in a few weeks.

Definetely.
I definetely can't wait to see what 30psi will do with his set up. (once he gets tired of that) Maybe we'll see some 32-35psi like Andy and John are running :stick: ......come on you know you want to.... :stick:

Don't know where I heard 24psi from but still cool non the less making over 500whp with under 30psi of boost.

Huh, Mo told me 23psi creeping to 26psi up top. Shane was probably doing the dyno'ing, so he would know best!

Isn't 26psi a lot, especially with his 9.5:1 compression ratio? Max power was at the 26-27psi. The car is maxed. We were at 13:1 A/Fs, 32 degrees of timing, VP import race gas($20 a gallon) and the turbo wouldn't make more than 26-27psi. So don't expect any higher numbers than his 507whp ever. Oh yea, that was with a 75 shot of nitrous too.

VP import is better than C16, but costs at least twice as much. I was being sarcastic about Mo's tune though.
Craig Paisley said this about the VP Import on Supra forums...
Quote:
I've seen the VP Import fuel make more than 50 extra horsepower over C-16 in a Supra. If you are really trying to make power than it is worth the extra money. The tune up that you use with the import fuel is drastically different than C-16 and if you smell that you fuel you will have doubts about putting it in your car but it does work. The import fuel is probably the best fuel out there to use. It is outlawed for the Supra engines in the Pro Import class though or we would all be using it, only the 4 cylinders are allowed to use it so we stick with the alcohol.
|
He also said it smells like kerosene.
Another high HP Supra guy claimed to have gotten 40whp more from the VP Import.
We have seen C16 make more power vs generic 110 on cars here.

to clear things up, i said starting at 23 and creeping to 26-27 ish. but should be a lot better power band when we hit and hold 30 the whole way...

Possibly. Maybe that turbo likes to spool a little too much.

It's like a mack truck.
Takes a while to get moving and once it does, it's hard to get it to stop.

I don't know if Brian doesn't want to say anything, but he dynoed the other day and put down some good numbers. Seems like the old turbo might have been part of the problem all along. He made 403whp on pump gas. We only made 2 pulls on race gas, we upped the boost a little bit and on the first pull it made 438whp. Did a little tuning of the fuel and timing at the same boost settings and made 456whp. We stopped at that run, because it is a stock small rod 7-bolt motor and didn't want to push it over the edge. The car is possibly capable of 500whp, but we don't know how much the bottom end can even take. If it hold together, maybe he will want to go for more, if we stay out of knock totally.
