Clutches are wear and tear items. Especially in a high horsepower all wheel drive. If you don't realise that you probably shouldn't own an Evo. Nobody in their right mind would warranty a clutch unless they like being taken advatage of. There's no way your friend can prove that he wasn't responsible for the premature failure.

Riiiiight. If you're running that setup with a stock clutch then you oughta slap yourself.
You're right I should have thrown on a 3200 lb pressure plate on my fresh 7-bolt to break the motor in. What was I thinking?

If they aren't going to warantee it, then why put it in black and white right in the very front of the owners manual? If the tranny blows after 6500 miles they should void that too because it also wears and tears?

What's wrong with throwing a performance clutch on your car right after the rebuild? worried about ruining it during the break in pulls or sumthin?

Anywho, my main thing is it says right there on the manual that the clutch has a warantee. Then to come and tell you no after it goes out like 4 months later then that's fucked up. I don't follow camaros much, but i don't hear them bitchin about clutches blowing after 4 months on a brand new SS. The thing should be able to last longer then 4 months I think.

Why the hell should he have to prove anything? It's a known and very common problem. It's not like this was an isolated thing. If he had an airbag go off for no apparent reason, brought it into the dealership to get it fixed under warantee, does he need to provide a video tape or sumthin as proof that he didn't actually hit something? Even on that grand link you put on here they claim to give you the benefit of the doubt. All he got was a hell no. Anywho, worthless arguement. If you were in his shoes I'm sure you woulda have been a little peeved too. He takes such good care of that thing, doesn't launch it, just drives it "spirited" like the thing was made to be driven, but for the most part takes it easy on the thing. And the clutch went out that quickly. He was a little upset and I don't blame him.
