This may be a familiar car to some in the local drift scene here in the midwest.

This car has been down almost a year.

He finally finished it and brought it in for some Jordan love.

This here is a single cam ka24e. Tuned now and ready to go slideways.

Hope to see this thing ripping up the local events here real soon!

This is what happens when you run 60psi unexpectedly on the drag strip trying to run 7's balls out!

That head gasket didn't stand a chance lol.

You know what they say "You gotta pay to play"!

We'll have this thing up and running in no time!

Got a date at the track in less then 2 weeks.

Re: Behind the scenes at MAPerformance (pics updated often)

Our Master Mechanic Kyle welding up our 94 RX-7 race car.

We built this car from the ground up and it's Kyle here's job to make sure she runs perfect.

We're still looking for that elusive 7 sec pass, but we have half a season left to keep chasing it!

1000+whp from a 2.4L we'll get that 7 any day now!

Thought I would post a progress pic to this one. Here is the manifold now being assembled and fitted on the motor.

Almost finished now! Just needing to be welded up and she's ready to go.

Trans didnt like the power so the Evo is being slapped together so we can get out to Power Cruise this weekend. At least it was now not right before the shootout

Re: Behind the scenes at MAPerformance (pics updated often)

is there a thread or story somewhere on the internet that describes what part of the transmission didn't like the power?

Re: Behind the scenes at MAPerformance (pics updated often)

I would guess clutches or Torque converter, for the most part on a built auto this is the part that wears out at some point.

At the MAP Proving grounds Mark L was looking at my logs and saying how much quicker my 2L Non Balll bearing 4202 spooled quicker and had boost recovery quicker then his 2.3 or 2.4L and BB 42 GTX was, this made me think my no IC pipe setup helps a lot VS some other setups out there. To bad the car did not let you test this aspect, but the power is there for sure now, good luck.
