If I see or hear about this ken block character one more fucking time I swear...
Last I checked, the Evo won between the two on top gear, a show we all follow.
The evo ran better overall then even the green lambo they pitted it against.
I feel the evo handles, gives better feedback, and takes to mods quite well.
Done a timing belt, tranny, clutch, or even a plug change on a sti? How about even a fricken intake for the turbo? not the simplest or easiest of cars to wrench on. Parts also seem to be more available for the evo platform.
Want the "cool" noise of the sti? Unplug one of your sparkplug wires. I personally don't get my rocks off to the sti in the slightest, nor over that horrible misfire garbling sound. Reminds me of a chick that just took a load, and is now "playing" before she swallows it..blahh.

yea actually - all of those. you'd think you mitsu guys with all your broken cars would be skilled at wrenching (can't talk though, my gvr4 has been "broken" for months now)
they really aren't that hard to work on once you've learned your way around the car.

Are we going to blame that on a Mitsu design problem? If you insist.
I would. 4G63's don't use any stupid [thin] dual cam caps with bearings in them. Fine for stock I'm sure which seems to Mitsu's intent and concern for many of the common X failure points when modified.
I agree with exactly what Jeremy said. For sporty fun and track duty, Evo all the way. If I didn't give a damn about racing and just wanted something fun to drive on a daily basis, I'd take the STI.

I guess we'll see how that works out over time. Trevor (and others) have had issues with their heads a lot sooner than I think is reasonable. If Mitsu switched to something with better longevity in return for having to be careful when swapping cams (a rare event for most people) then it might be worth it.
^this is due to the fact that every manufacturer does what they can to cut costs. It's easier to cast 1 solid piece then 2 seperate programs, pieces, etc. Cheaper it can be made, they will do it. Cars just aren't made like they used to be. Toyota uses this design, but it works quite well. I have yet to see one snap, but at the same time theirs is a bit more beefy.
Back on topic..good video matt.

Yeah we will definitely see how things turn out in the long run. The common issue on the 8/9 heads seem to be leaky valve seals with both stock and aftermarket cams. I'm willing to blame any lifter/rocker issues on aftermarket cam installation error.
