I wouldn't even try to re-use/clean an oil cooler from a motor that put any shavings into the oil. It can be an expensive part of a new motor build to get a new oil cooler from Mitsu or build an aftermarket setup, unless you are lucky to find a used one that you are 100% sure came from a clean running motor.

Excactly why I bought a used one from a good motor, I didnt want to spend 600 from the dealership and I needed one asap so I found someone local that is switching to an aftermarket one. This engine was way to expensive to take the chance on an oil cooler that I cleaned out.

Smart move not re-using it. Re-using a spun bearing victim oil cooler is a great way to burn some money without actually setting it on fire.

So in that case, if it gets that embeded into the components to the point that you can't clean it out without being able to "scrub" it, do you also replace the oil filter housing, the pick-up screen, the oil-pump, catch-can and all lines, valve cover, the dip stick tube? Where does it end?

You take all of the plugs out of the oil filter housing and clean it. Sometimes you can clean the pickup screen, sometimes you replace it. You normally change the oil pump with any rebuild. Catch-can shouldn't put oil back into the motor. Hopefully shavings aren't in the valve cover baffles, you atleast clean it. Dipstick tube is easy to clean. So kinda yes. It's just not easy to clean an oil cooler or know if it's clean and it's not worth destroying a motor over it.

The cost of an aftermarket oil cooler setup is always cheaper then motor damage. What size exhaust housing is that? Nice setup.

Just got a txt from mike....his ignition is breaking up, but he made ~430whp @ 17psi on RS's mustang dyno. 'full boost' (lol) hits at 4350rpm.

Ya I need to invest into spark tech or some type of other ignition setup. We only took her up to 7000 also. Still plenty of power to be made on pump. The just rips now.

^Hell yeah.

That shit spools fast. I was getting 22psi by 4200rpm on my 61 on stock 1g bottom end.

He does have a 2.3l and a GT4088R is inbetween a 61 and 67 in size, so it shouldn't be crazy laggy.

It's a 63.5mm compressor wheel. There are a couple possible exhaust wheels. We put 2 of the non-R GT4088s on Kenny's TT Mustang. The non-DBB ones used to be dirt cheap.

Im actually really not sure when full boost hits, I really diddnt look at the sheet to closley. I will post that up when I get my scanner to work. I need spark tech to turn the boost up so the ignition doesnt break up.

No this was at 17 psi on BP92. I was going to turn the boost up to 24 yesterday on pump. I guess I will just have to wait to put down the bigger numbers till I get my tax returns back for a better ignition. I have the dual pumper laying around ready to go in and get tuned on e-85. Heres the graph

Wow that thing is just dead below 4600! Great top end but the midrange is what kills a setup like that for me. Great power for such low boost though, should be fun to rip around in for a while, but do you think you'll get sick of having an n/a car under 4000rpms?
