Re: Our new ride
Mazda put a ton of R&D into the hood ducting to keep air flowing to the top-mount; its not the ideal setup, but they wanted to stay away from the boy-racer look of the EVO/STi with the big wings and scoops. They heatsoak on the dyno since the car is stationary, but on the highway at speed it should be pretty effective.
Allan, definitely look into those MazdaSpeed intake and exhaust setups, I think those are both fairly large restrictions (especially the exhaust) resulting in the "doggier" 4-6 gears.

Re: Our new ride
Considering the axhaust is the same 2" setup used on the regular 6 it's definatly something to look into next year. Although, I'm enjoying the quite ride for now.

Re: Our new ride
LOL, that does look sexy though Chris.
Next summer we will look at intake and exhaust that allow us to keep the warrenty. Other than that, nothing for 7 years or 75k miles.

Re: Our new ride
Look at those exhaust restrictions! When Jana lets you get exhaust you should gut both those cats.

Re: Our new ride
The downpipe looks like a few Coke bottle strung together. That would be my first upgrade judging from the pictures.
