I never got retuned for the ported intake manifold since after the first test-drive I knew it would be coming off. Without proper retuning the ported intake manifolds show zero gains, so no, I did not feel any difference. I plan to eventually give the WeaponX ported intake manifold a shot since those are not supposed to have any adverse side effects, but he was taking too long and I wanted to have the car 100% for the cruise in two weeks.

My WeaponX Stage 1 ported intake manifold finally came in yesterday! It took so long because he was having trouble getting cores back from other customers, so he eventually just ordered a brand new one to get ported and have sent to me (which I will gladly accept, especially considering he didn't charge me a core charge). This one is quite a bit more expensive than the FasterProms whistler ($350 vs $150), but from initial impressions it is warranted (assuming it doesn't whistle as he claims). I was tempted to swap it on quick-like last night, but decided against it to just leave well enough alone for my 3k mile roadtrip that kicks off next week. I'll likely get it swapped on in early August to make sure it's retuned and ready for the annual Shreveport cruise later that month. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but the port work is definitely more in-depth, smoother, and more uniform. After now having both WeaponX's ported intake manifold and throttle body in my possession, I'd put their quality and attention to detail to be on the same level as MAP's work (I'm still bummed MAP wasn't interested in porting the intake manifold). I'll see if I can get some pictures tonight and post them tomorrow for visual comparison vs. the FasterProms.

Hell no Operation stock tune and emissions compatibility is still in full effect!
The ported IM should put me somewhere around 450whp (DynoJet) if my estimation is correct.

That's pretty stout for mods that don't affect driveability.

I would concur, and that is exactly my plan. Zero drawbacks or reliability concerns.

What I wouldn't do for a rigid aluminum oil pan with a built in sealing ring ala LS versus the flimsy tin pan and RTV solution for DSM's. I spend all last night chasing down small oil leaks, meanwhile my 100K+ mile Tahoe has yet to ever shred a drop of any fluid. LS for the win!

LT FTW
I just hope they prove to be as durable as the LS!

Ordered...then canceled
I had to remind myself it didn't fit in my plan.

HAHA! This was back in December or so, and honestly has barely even crossed my mind since. I think the modding bug was starting to itch a bit but has since cleared up with a few more simple bolt-ons.

I'm sure it'll eventually get a Procharger kit though

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Do they make a cam that is mild enough that won't screw up drivability? Something similar in nature to like a DSM 264. Little bump in power, but no real noticeable drivability downfall?

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Probably, but I'm not really interested in tearing into the engine since that opens a whole new can of worms for potential oil leaks, tuning issues, etc.
*edit*
Here is pretty much what you were referring to: https://texas-speed.com/p-4547-texas...lications.aspx
By doing a cam, I would lose the Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) functionality. Not a big deal to some, but I like it for roadtrips.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
WeaponX Stage 1 LT1 ported intake manifold pics:
The biggest difference in this port job is the lack of any internal sharp edges or lips, which are likely what caused the whistling with the previous manifold.

Agreed, and you're welcome.
Next minor mod that I plan to order and stockpile for a boring weekend: C7 Z06 Z07 swaybar bushings. It turns out that all C7's with magnetic ride control (Z51 w/MRC option, Z06, & Z06 w/Z07 package) all share identical swaybars, with the Z07 getting stiffer bushings than the rest. The set of 4 should be right around $20-25 I think so I plan to get them ordered sooner or later since it should tigthen up the suspension by a little bit with minimal effect on ride quality. They're still made of rubber so there shouldn't be any additional noise.
