Cars aren't as balanced as the movies make them look.

Like I said, I'm glad to hear you guys are ok. But I am still curious to hear what kind of a ticket you are facing for this one.

I't not about balance, it's about how it left the ground. If one end leaves with more upward acceleration than the other it will flip. It's just like droping a golf ball and bowling ball off the top of a building, they make it down at the same time cause gravity. But we should start a new thread if we want to disscuse jumping cars.

Embelished or not the car was fucked up pritty good from the sounds of it, and Eric is alive to tell about it. That's what matters

I am glad you are ok Eric. I have also had the pleasure of jumping a car (a nice 78 Malibu). I was 20 feet in the air, so Erik can kiss my ass If you were still hauling ass after you hit the bank, the trajectory would still be fairly flat if you got 25 - 30 feet in the air, so that car wouldn't be as messed up as if it just fell 30 feet straight down.

Anyway, glad you are alright. Have you thought about what you are going to get now?

Sounded like fun now that you are okay. I have always felt somewhat safe in the dsms for crashing reason, but my stealth is that much 'safer feeling' imho.
Now that im driving the tempo, I feel like a sardine in a somewhat smushed can.
Glad your okay, hopefully we can get some photos when you recover.
Best of luck in any/all future court visits.

Read the part about the bank being 10 feet tall and almost 90 degrees. Impossible that a low car would even go up the bank. 10 feet is one story high. Are you telling me that you would fly 30 feet out (not 30 feet high, but 30 feet out) after hitting such a bank? If you did, you would be endo-ing. I've seen people hit banks that are almost 10 feet tall head on at over 60mph with cars that were slightly raised and they stop!! They may climb the bank a little, but they don't go over it.

As far as damage, it depends on if the landing was sloped or not. If a car drops straight from 30 feet it will do alot of damage. If it has a gradual slope downward to a flat landing, it will still do very substantial damage to the car. 30 feet is 30 feet no matter how you look at it.

As was said before, he was in a huge accident and thankfully he is alive and intact. That is the main thing. I won't whore up this thread anymore.

Glad to hear you and your friend are alive. I'll have to buy you a beer sometime after you recover and you can tell me all about it.

BTW, how messed up is your back and how did your friend end up after the accident?

Get well soon!

Jim

Yeah, glad to hear you are ok too Eric.

I guess I'm just confused on how the whole thing happened. It does sound a little crazy, but since you don't want to go into details I will just be left confused.

Let's just assume he was getting road head and wasn't paying attention.

I had 2 friends with me(both male, so no roadhead). My back is pretty fucked up, I can barely move or breathe without being in pain, doctors say its just sprain muscles though. When I hit the bank(launched) I felt a severe jolt to my back, and an even worse jolt when the car landed. My friend in the passenger seat has some broken ribs(from the seat belt), a concussion(he was knocked out cold for a few minutes) and some pretty good cuts/roadrash from the airbag. My other friend in the backseat was uninjured.

If you guys give me a password to get into the private forums I will explain what happened.

The preliminary damage estimate is $9400, thats not including the frame damage, any underhood/engine damage or tires yet(all four blew out). The ins company said the value of the car is $11,800, so yeah its looking pretty totaled.
