Don't go on zg much but maybe I'll go post there. Nobody really like drag bikes over on mnsbr, searched around but didn't see any threads about nitrous tuning.

I have a quick shifter from power commander so i should need a kill box. At least thats what I'm thinking. Just going to run a crude setup first off the starter button and see how it works.

Such a fun trip! I always knew when your radar would go off because you'd either back way off if we were under 100mph.
Or shit can it out of sight if we were over 100mph

We need to sponser a trip for Brad to Isle of man

Hitman has a good record of blowing shit up. I have heard a hand full of storys of bill screwing custmors over. I would just stay away from him. You better run some 8s this year. What you doing for gearing

DIGA HOLE!! That was an awesome trip. Gotta go again before too long or another road trip. And I don't know what you're talking about with the radar detector lol

That doesn't sound good. Leaning more towards Todd now. Guess I have a while to make up my mind. 8's is pushing it, I'd be pumped with some low 9's but don't get me wrong an 8 would be the end all but I don't think it will happen next year.

Ordered a 16t front sprocket and 48t rear sprocket which is -1/+3. Should help get it out of the hole a lot better. Some guys were saying they ran -2/+3 which just seemed crazy. Also ordered a bmc race filter too.

Re: 2006 Yamaha R1

I got bored a few days ago so I did a comparrison of time slips.

Left is my best that I ever had with no spray and not extended. Right is my best pass from the last track day with a 35 shot and it was extended. If I can get that 60' time down the bike should be able to be a decent amount quicker.

Pulled it out of Paul's shed this past weekend and really makes me miss riding it around. Needs to stop snowing and warm up asap!

I also found a good deal on velocity stacks so I have some Graves velocity stacks to install once it warms up. All I really have left to order is the new bottle bracket but I haven't ordered that yet as I'm a cheap ass and haven't decided if I want to try a bigger shot and go with race gas or just leave it as it sits. I hate paying for shipping twice haha.

Re: 2006 Yamaha R1

Installed some graves velocity stacks, bmc race filter and new spark plugs a few weeks ago and took her out for a little ride this weekend.

I also got a chance to put on my rearsets after having them powder coated black by powder keg. I also had Tim coat my passenger pegs, adjustable kick stand and new bottle bracket. Parts look amazing, thanks powder keg!!

Plan is to get the lowering links and new kickstand installed tomorrow night then mount the bottle in the swing arm to see what lines I need to order.

Going to try and make it to the first sport compact day at rock falls on the 21st. Hopefully I can get all the crap installed and tuned by then

I really want to, see how it goes and if I can swing getting it tuned. Still might go try it with just it re-geared/lowered without spray and see how it goes if things don't go as smoothly as I hope the next two weeks. Gotta figure out a way to get it out there haha

Installed my lowering links last night, install was a lot easier than I though. I ended up using a car lift to raise/lower the tail which made it super easy. An engine hoist would've worked too but that was outside in the cold/snow haha. Lowering links weren't too extreme, just an inch and half or so.

Was going raise my forks in the tripple tree too but my stock steering dampner wouldn't work anymore. Might just try riding it around how it is for a while and see how it feels for daily riding. For the track it'll be strapped hard anyways so I think I'll be set at the track.

Also started installing my adjustable kickstand but didn't seem to line up how I wanted it to. Going to try looking at it again tonight after work and see if I can get it to work better, might have to drill a new hole to mount it as it currently hits my shifter on down shifts.

^This is also my plan on how to wire up the nitrous so I have it all in one place. Really want to wire in the LED so I know that I'm spraying and the map switched but might be further down the road as I really just want to go to the track.

I like the N2O wiring, pretty sweet setup! Can you rig up 3 LEDs? One on the horn toggle so when you flip it to be the N2O trigger it lights orange (i.e. armed). Then one for N2O flow and one for the map switch? 2 greens means you're good. Adding the orange armed light might complicate things though I guess, you got the switch already and know what it does.

That's a cool idea! I never thought about a sperate led for each seperate part, that way I could know that al three are working!

Just got approved for 2 weeks off in August for a trip out to CA. Plan is to take the bike so I don't think I'll be pushing my luck with a bigger shot of nitrous until after the trip haha.

Re: 2006 Yamaha R1

Finally got around to installing the new bottle mount, air shifter and re-wiring everything this weekend. Seemed like the biggest pain but glad it's done and like the way it turned out.

Ended up taking off the tank to run the new nitrous line and run some wires. Felt like I was going backwards for such an easy install haha

I found a 6266 suby you can walk, I get the feeling they would turn it up once you go around them the first time.

Is that the black NF bug eye one that runs high 9s? Got a few good runs in with him last year.

Re: 2006 Yamaha R1

Got a chance last week to get out and test the air shifter and new nitrous wiring. Everything seems to work and the air shifter is pretty cool and fun to use. Also got my medical forma filled out to make my passes to get my nhra license.

All thats left before hitting the track is an oil change and a tune once the weather warms up a bit.

Got the bike all cleaned up for some rolling shots this weekend and snapped this pic with my phone. Cant wait to go racing and warm weather!
