I mostly know locals through buying parts and what not, otherwise I don't have the time to hang out at uni. But yes, Brandon and I have known each other since 6th grade when we sat next to each other and played football everyday at reccess. After driving his GST I had to have a dsm, boy was that a bad idea...

I met a ton of DSMers the spring/summer of 2002: Cher, Rabe, P-Diddy, Shane, Mara, Ty, and the list goes on. Fall of '01 I met the whole Duluth-crew. In spring/summer 2001 I met Steve, CVD (back then he was just Chris), Mo, and probably a bunch more I don't remember. I know Reid got into DSM's since he had some money saved up and just wanted a car that would fit in since he was always with me/DSMers. He never liked his so he bought his Conquest which he really likes.

MIAC was one of the first car clubs around for imports I believe.
Minnesota Import Auto Club I think (although I could be wrong). I was never really a member since back then I didn't own a car.
Now that site is just call MNForums.

It all started way back around 1998 when I got a POS laser rs (that did not run) for free. I rebuilt the motor and put on a 16G, which is when it all started. :3gears: It was like an infection that dam Turbo made a cool sound and boost came on, you see I was a "Chevy Guy", you know V8s living in a cave, that kind of thing.
So it was time to leave the cave, :toast:
found DSM.ORG than found some local guys that had the same infection. Talked on line with some outher DSMers, started going down to the Mervyns parking lot on Uni, would get kicked out by the cops and go to Red Rock get flushed out by the cops than sit in the P&R lot till 2-3am,
than I started to post on MIAC. and now same car the "Laser", still around like some of you just trying to go faster :jammin:

Have you talked to reid at all lately??
Anyway, Reid and Andy (conquests are better) are the ones who got me going down to uni, and there I met talontsidude CVD and I kind of met cher. Also, I know the "hort crew" from school.
Thats about it.

aj emailed me aboot the shootout because i had heard about it, told me to register at style, i still have that email.
"Just wanted to shoot ya an e-mail. I replied to your post in mn dsm, but also havre a thread going on the shootout on my website.
So far my site is mainly made up of MN locals. check it out if ya like at www.dsmstyle.com" Sent : Friday, January 10, 2003 10:49 PM
then went to the go carts with everyone and met aj, raptor, nash, erik and trina, jet, brian and jenny and everyone else who came... after that dsmstyle is the main site i am a part of and spent many lonely nights hitting refresh. somehow i became the whipping boy of dsmstyle.... and everyone else i either met here or at the gatherings at brians or at midway and some at the partys i hosted. but all in all had a lot of good times with everyone.

Well, I met a few of the locals at University and possibly Red Rock back in the day. I met Allan, Nash, Shane, and a few other's when I went to the shootout last year. Now, somehow Allan got a hold of my credit card and I seem to make weekly payments to QPR

Since this Ties into my story I'll explain.
1999 I wanted to get something faster that I could do what ever I wanted to it. To make it more Show worth at my stereo competitions. So after talking with Devin Pearce of "SpeedWerks" he said get a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Well 4 days later after loosing to my father's 32' RV I was back at Speedwerks showing, MOE, JOHN, Isaak, Brent R, and Devin my GS-T.
There were surprised I got one so fast. Well 6 days later I gave them a call saying I blew my motor, and turbo. Dealership wants $2200 for a new head and $1600 for a new turbo.
what can you do? Long story short I bought Shanes HRC S20G and Greddy Small FMIC and all the other stuff that was on my original set up.
So during that time they had my car and the fact that I had no life or friends (I was a work a holic at the time) I started hanging out at Speedwerks during my lunch break, and then after work for several hours. Because I wanted to learn more about cars, etc.
Well I one Day KRIS ALI and JESSE GIEKEN walked in and we started talking. Turns out that he lived just down the street from me. So we started hanging out playing Grand Tourismo and NFL what ever.
Wasn't long after that Kris ran into Andy Nash who also happened to live down the street. So I was over at Kris Ali's house like usual playing G.T. when Andy Showed up and proceded to woop my ass in Football (which I admit I suck at)
A new Buffalo Wild Wings Opened up in Apple Valley at that time and I'd gotten used to going to BW3's on Tuesdays for there, then .20cent wing nights. So I said let start going.
So every Tuesday 6pm we met at A.V BW3's. I was also still hanging out at Speedwerks and actually had started helping in the shop just because I wanted to learn how to work on cars. And that's when I met Seth. (I helped swap a VTECH into his Hatch)
So Seth and Gil started coming to BW3 nights with us. Afterwards we'd either cruise AV or we'd got to Pro-Kart indoor or head out to DCTC for some fun. (where I got my Nick Name "BRNOUTKING") as our numbers started growing I kept on telling everyone to invite anyone they wanted, anyone they meet, etc.
Long story short - what started as 4 people gathering every tuesday at BW3 turned into 25-30 people every Tuesday at BW3's.
Seth then created MIAC's Website so that we all could chat during the day etc. From there Tyler Started "XRATED" which was a club for those members that were into "Show&GO".
So basically MIAC was the chat forums and XRATED was for event people.
Who all has pictures of those first days? I know there are several around. I lost all mine when they gave me a new computer at work.
This is the only one I have left from our first time at Rock Falls.

i guess i'll do my story too..
It all started with the modding, started off with the Stratus coupe RT and saw the "potential" that car didn't have.. so i ended up stoping with moding of that. Then a co-worker was selling the eclipse and i was like, what the hell i'll buy it, and from there it went down the hill... did all of my own stuff at first, and then i went over to Elite to get some tuning done from there i heard of this site. Started hanging out on the boards and decided to stop by Midway to get some mesh for the FMIC i got, however i didn't know ANYONE and drove two weekends thru midway and went home, then third time i stoped at Spincycle and met Barton and few other guys, saw Shane there and OMG i was soo hapy to see somone i knew.. lol . From there i started meeting the others (good or bad i don't know) and now you guys can't get rid of me, i'm like a tick, a supertick....

Well I've known Allan since he was in high school riding the same school bus as me I never saw him again for a few years until one night I was this sweet looking silver car in Decorah, turned out is was Allan and his GST. I met Jana a year ago January when I came up for the big DSMStyle.com Winter Gathering. Jana took care of me that night was I was praying to the porcelain Gods for a fair amount of time. I've known Jacek for many years since I went to school with him. I met Mark and Nash one night a while back when they were in Decorah with Mark's silver GSX. I met Brian, Jenny, and Tom along with some others that I can't remember last summer when I came up to pick up a block from Dan Moore. Yet I still don't own a DSM, have a pile of DSM parts, and if I combined all the time I've spent on here, other sites, along with general DSM reading, I could probably be rich and have a 4.0 if I'd spent that time working and studying.
