Not sure yet, I went to Taco Bell, pulled away from the window and it sounded like my gearset was dragging on the ground. The end cover is cracked wide open and she bled to death. It's right where 5th gear is and that was the gear that was popping out and giving me trouble so it kinda makes sense. Oh well!

Wow, that's a huge difference. I can't wait to see what I'll end up with!

320 is right around what I figured I'd be able to make with the current fuel setup. I'm hoping I can get on the dyno by June or July. Since it sounds my fuel system will be pretty much at it's peak, this winter I'll look in to upgrading my injectors and pump so come spring time I can get back on the rollers and really stretch the e316g's legs out.

Wait you have 950s?
Then WTF are u worrying about thats what I have and I am not even close, you have nothing to worry about.
Black is right, i say let er buck you will have more fun trying to get more boost than worrying about fuel with a 16G and 950s.

Your estimate on duty cycle is a little high. When I had the car tuned at DB with the 3076R I was making 305whp, and IDCs were only 65-70% on 92. Those injectors should be good to 350-375 on E-85.

And that's weird about the tranny popping out of 5th, then blowing it out of the cover. I can't say I've heard of that happening before and it never popped out of 5th for me.

It was weird, it didn't do it when I test drove it, just bad timing! In no way do I blame you Kevin. You sold me a damn solid car. Things happen! At least it happened when I have some extra dough laying around! She'll be back up in a few weeks I think. Stronger than ever!

Re: LingLing's Project Thread

The nut that holds 5th gear on can work its way loose, and then worse case scenario fall off or something. I guess a symptom is popping out of fifth.

What route are you going with the tranny?

I guarantee that's what happened Ling Ling. Here is a pic of that same nut from my 1st tranny. Except in mine, the nut actually sheared right off with a piece of the shaft still in it.

Re: LingLing's Project Thread

Also, if you have 950cc injectors and a Walbro 255HP, you have plenty of injector and fuel pump. Here is a video of a buddy of mine's setup (95tsi on here) And he has quite a few more mods than you on an E316G and E-85. He is on 880cc injectors and made 347HP and 361TQ.

Just a stocker, I was hoping this transmission would last me through this year, so then when I garage it for the winter I could upgrade then, but since I'm getting the replacement checked out by Chad so I'll be okay for a while I think...I hope

I'm damn near positive you're right. The timing with 5th gear popping out and the case cracking it makes perfect sense. I suppose it could be a lot worse.

That's a nice car! My expectations are being raised the more I read about e85 with the e316g.

When the transmission is out I'll be be doing the fuel pump rewire and addressing some of the small stuff. There's still a hefty exhaust leak from between the manifold and turbo, so a gasket is definitely in store. Also, the VC gasket is starting to seep a little, and it seems pretty wet by the oil pan too. Overall it'll be a good time to get a lot things done.

Re: LingLing's Project Thread

Figured while I have some time I'd actually try to get something done on the car. So I relocated my wideband to a more visible spot. I didn't like how I had to physically look down to see it when I'm driving.

^That spot is way worse IMO, I like looking at the gauge cluster in one glance see everything I need, but whatever u like.

I can't believe you are underestimating E85.

Before it was below the stereo and it was a bitch to just glance at it. I would like it mounted on my steering column eventually, but this will tide me over for now.

I no longer underestimate the power of e85. I've been doing some serious reading and now I know I was short changing the potential of it. No further mods until I max out the e316g! Thanks to everyone who opened my naive eyes to power of e85!

Re: LingLing's Project Thread

yeah, e85 is no joke...it will seriously make you laugh because of the gains . My cousin with a 2000 WRX RS w/ the ver.7 sti swap went from, IIRC, 280 awhp to around 340awhp from just switching to e316g+e85+tune. that car seriously goes. did i mention he did that with the e316g?!! i want a ride when you go ethanol!

If you think that, you are either seriously retarded, or haven't read anything about the process in which it takes to make E-85
