Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
Thats true the car i guess might brake if i turned The BOOST UP TO LIKE 22PSI and just DROVE IT LIKE A FOOL! But it was not driven IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN DRIVING BECAUSE I AM MISSING A FEW IMPORTANT PARTS! Like axle support bolts which hopefully i will get from stephan tomorrow. As well as a new side mount intercooler kit ( If any body would like to sell me theirs ^_^ send me a PM) All in all I am still in My Budget that i planned so im not crying! I was just hoping (which is where i went wrong! DSM Doesn't show mercy) that the car will run as soon as i fixed the stuff that was wrong!

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
I never accused stephan of lying or being shady well i did just a lil not for lying though! People might not understand I love DSM i just really do i always wanted one. I thought i could trust people of the forums he seemed so legit i still think he is to some extend. HE JUST FREAKING MESSED UP on explaining crap its the only way i can put it! I mean THERE WAS NO NEED TO THROW THE VALVE COVER ON CRAPILY HAVING OIL COMING OUT OF IT! IF YOU ARE SELLING A CAR MAKE TIME FOR IT ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS! I dont know how many times i can say it you guys are right it is my fault for buying my car no one held a Gun to my head and forced me to buy it, but this should prove to be a good lesson for everyone that is a noob that does not know a CRAP load about DSM's like KRACKA, Push it 2.0 and all you other DSM lovers. Make sure you take your time before you buy a car! I think things like that should not tear the Mitsu style community apart. I mean i dont get this kind of support on MNSC and other forums. I like Mitsu Style. Yet i will say it and continue to say stephan carries some fault as well.

Nope just the good old Hand shake ill take your word for it. Stephan is known, his brothers are known! He seemed like a nice kid not out to scamm no one! He has a nice VR4. Yet that doesnt mean the DSM he was selling was a DIME IN A DOZEN. If what he says is true there shouldn't be any more problems right....? Ok then!

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
well, you did buy it As-Is. On the "plus side", i guess, hopefully the rebuilt engine will be good for you. If you need parts, ask around and it'll gradually come. I just went to the junkyard about a week ago and saw a FWD turbo auto 1g. still had the side IC when i checked, turbo, head, manifold is gone though. enjoy your dsm and your stay and I'm sure we'll help out with your issues as much as we can.
EDIT:
Mitsustyle is nothing like mnsc.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
as for purple smoke never heard of it or seen it out of a car. a car running rich enough to smoke it will be black, burning coolant is white smoke, and burning oil is blue smoke. as for the rebuild if it isn't from a reputable shop or someone known for knowing how to rebuild engines you really don't know what your getting into. just because someone takes it apart and puts it back together doesn't mean it's done right.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
to weigh in on this... Im almost opposed to buying a car that has ever been modified. Not that I want to break a car's mod cherry or anything, but 95%+ of people haven't a clue what they're doing and do really crap, haphazard work. They ignore basic maintenance and slap mods on it.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
Alright, here's how I'm going to state this. One time.
The longblock and head are from a colt part out in the sale threads back in summer.
When I sold the car, it was blowing some nasty smoke, due to what I thought to the best of my knowledge was a boost leak.
Sold the car to him, he he finds a coolant leak here, and the sidemount is leaking. Coolant leak, I have no idea how that formed, because when I had it it was dry in my garage on the ground, no coolant.
Sidemount leak? I was not aware it was leaking to begin with.
In short, what I'm saying is. I sold the car to the best of my knowledge knowing what I knew when I sold it. It was sold AS IS.
I didn't mask any problems with the car, and I'm certainly not mad at Alpha D at all, don't get the wrong impression. He and I are working this out.
Alpha, we're still cool, I'm just a little agitated when you contact me at work or school. I'm more than willing to help you with what I know via PM's. From now on, lets keep this to PM's.
Like I said, I wasn't trying to be an ass, I just don't want to be texted all the time at school and work.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
I didnt even bother reading Alpha D's replies, becuase they look like a 5 year old typed them. Frick.
Car was sold as is, he should have checked it out more thoroughly. He could have done a compression test, boost leak test, checked for leaks, etc. Stop bothering the dude.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
Fact of the matter misunderstandings happen. Both sides didnt feel treated fair. We are resolving everything properly now. I will leave him alone ones i know everything there is to know about the motor. Or anything he is willing to share. If he chooses not to cooperate that is his choice.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
I recommend you make a project thread with all the info on your car so we can start helping you get all this sorted out, and hopefully the seller will be able to chime in with answers too.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
most important fact: the car was bought AS IS. Seller's word or not, it was not running when you got it and if you go through with a deal like that you have to expect there to be monumental problems.
Side story: my brother wanted a dsm really really bad. I found one for him, it was $500. We bought it, brought it to rick shindley because it had 'just popped the timing belt' and we thought it would be an easy fix to get back on the road. Long story short, we ended up scrapping the car and keeping a few parts out of it: the tranny, some electronics and interior pieces, etc. Head was absolutely fried, turbo was shot, axles were junk and the suspension was broken. What a joke! But we got what we paid for
SO. Make a SPECIFIC list of current issues with the car in a project thread. By specific, I mean:
It's leaking coolant. From where? IDK, let's find that leak!
It smokes. What kind of smoke? From where?
It leaks oil. From where?
Intercooler is shot. How so?
There, make a SPECIFIC list of problems, and work through them one by one. Keep tackling problems ONE AT A TIME until you either have no more, or need to add more to the list. Prioritize and re-prioritize as needed.
And lastly, clean up your posts. Seriously go back and read what you wrote and it looks like a fifth-grader wrote them. There are rules about this, and this is your warning. No one can help you if they cannot understand you or don't want to bother reading what you wrote.

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
It was a non running dsm. You will have to lean how to fix them and keep them running right. It take's time but you can get it all right with help from all the guys on style. Next time you will know what you are getting into.
Hell all my dsm's I have owned and still have were non running or had major problems with them and all were under 500.00. All but my spyder I bought that new off the lot and that has been sitting apart for 7 years now.
the problems that I bought and still have
the 89 hatch had no engine 300.00
the talon had a bad engine it was also a 2.0 n/a to start with 500.00
the 95 mirage coupe had huge rod knock 150.00
the evo had blown head gasket, tranny only in reverce. 35.00 to transfer it to my name.
I have spent tens of thousands on all my cars to bring them back from the dead and build the shit out of them. Fix up your dsm the right way and it will treat you right. I have been d.d. dsm's for over 10 years now and the wife's d.d. is a dsm. They hold up just fine just keep up on it and it will last

Re: Conflict Resolution, DSMStyle Members, Need Your Opinions.
Every single dsm that i have owned has had issues. But thats what we sign up for when we buy them. Regardless of whether he told you or not about the coolent leak, Almost ALL dsms Leak coolent. Its mainly from old rubber hoses cracking or the seal on the water pump. It happens, just grab a black light turn on the car turn off the lights and look for the glowing liquid. Boost leaks are one of the most common problem with DSMs ESPECIALLY the shitty side mount. They always leak. They are built to leak. Get a new used one or upgrade to the FMIC.
The purple smoke is likely white, or its one of those cool exhaust systems that puts purple powder in the catalyst to make it puff purple smoke, made by the same manufacturer of scorchers and those tires that burn red or blue smoke. WOOOOT
But seriously, its a DSM, use this site or VFAQ to solve all of your problems.
My 96 just needed a new radiator, which i replaced before i took ownership, drove it home just fine, ($1000 woot)
