Look at the above chart and tell me: Do you think there is any correlation between US administration and how well our country does..
Remember, I am not saying bush is the only reason we are now screwed, I am saying he is the ceremonial figurehead to a whole group of individuals who is responsible for our countries' success.
a.k.a. bush administration

I am with this guy though.

The important measure is our debt to GDP ratio!
What exactly is so good about surpluses? Why do you believe that deficits are so bad? Why isn't good fiscal policy that encourages growth what you are concerned about?

Re: Obama losing his own supporters...
in 2 months obama's administration has spent more TAX payer dollars than bush did in his entire presidency. Thats more than the war in iraq and afganistan combined.
bush wasnt inocent but obama is using bush to push his own agenda and obama has to take responsibility for the money he is spending now this has nothing to do with bush

Re: Obama losing his own supporters...
Keep in mind, a lot of the money "pissed away in a war" goes right back to American citizens and American companies. Soldiers' pay, defense companies, weapons manufacturers, etc.

Whether the reasons we initially went to the middle east were right or wrong, I don't think you can argue that stabilizing that area of the world is a bad thing. The problem is, stabilizing an area of the world that has been at war for thousands of years isn't an easy thing to do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah...it's 'not our job' to do it, but they aren't getting it done on their own.

Re: Obama losing his own supporters...
It's been two months, it will take more then that to fix what has happened in the last 8 years.
I'm glad threads like this have ZERO effect on anything at all.
We got 3 years and 10 months at least, have fun bitching. The rest of us did it for 8 years, now you feel our pain.

I don't get it... what is it that Bush did to cause our recession? What other issues do you think he caused?
To counter your point, considering the premise of this thread is that people are changing their minds already, I think this thread just might have an effect. Maybe not on you, but you certainly don't represent everyone.

No offense, but he wasn't drafted; joining the military isn't just a free meal ticket.

Choosing a war that was a choice as opposed to a war of necessity. (afganistan) and sinking shit loads of money into no bid contracts. Bush and Cheney were the worst thing to happen to the US since McDonalds.

I'll point you back to my post regarding the war. Is it really such a bad thing that we went to Afghanistan? Iraq? We can choose to ignore direct threats against us, and we can choose to ignore threats against our allies and the world at large. In this case, we can choose to ignore threats to a group of people by their own countrymen. However, being a super power, we have the ability and the resources to step into these situations and do something about it.
My largest complaint about the Bush/Cheney presidency is that they weren't open about our goals in the Middle East. Unfortunately, President Obama has been no more open with our intentions or goals. He's only said that were are pulling out by such-and-so date. I'd rather see him say "We will pull out of Iraq when these goals have been achieved."
I still don't quite understand the animosity against the no-bid contracts. It might not have been fair, but I've yet to encounter any business where friends don't get picked first. Though, in my experience business friends tend to come about because of good track records in previous dealings. That may or may not be the case here, but it still put money in the pockets of Americans, from the million-dollar CEO's right down to the 'little guy' making $30,000 at a job s/he might not have had if it weren't for these 'terrible' no-bid contracts.
Speaking of putting money in the pockets of Americans, McDonalds looks to employ around 400,000 people.
If you really felt so strongly about the fairness of these contracts, did you write to your representative and senators to express your frustration and plead with them to do something about it? Did you encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same? ...or did you just complain about it on an internet forum? If you think McDonalds is so horrible, do you ensure that you do not support them by ever eating there?
