Re: DSMLink V3

So if you're on speed density and you change something relatively minor you'll have to retune? It won't adjust like a normal stock MAS would?

Sweet. I can't wait to upgrade mine. Hopefully it'll be soon while my car is parked for the winter.

Correct, you can change the intake manifold or cams or a MAS car and the fueling should remain the same. You change anything on a speed density setup that changes the efficiency at the same pressure and your fueling can change. But realistically if it's only a couple percent across the board, then a small change in A/F isn't a big a deal. A cam change that might benefit from just some small timing changes on a MAS, might require an entire fuel map rework on a SD car.

HHmmm second thoughts anyone?

I know there will be no need for a translator with v3. Would a GM mass be better for the DD?

Re: DSMLink V3

It sounded like the EVO8 MAS would meter 25% more air than a stock 2g MAS. I wonder what a EVOX MAS looks like?

Re: DSMLink V3

Speed density along with the factory ECU can compensate for weather conditions, I drove my car year round with the VPC and made no changes for fueling.

6% more metering wouldn't help me much, we were running into MAF overrun at 32psi, and there's plenty more room above that with my setup, that's why I'm excited about going back to speed density with DSMlink. Although a lot of guys are doing the VE tables above where I was maxing it out, so we could easily set that up but I don't really want to keep using the MAF.

^Are you having a lot of issues with overrun?
I plan on staying 16G so 2G MAS will be good enough for me.

Re: DSMLink V3

Bah, some of you people need to man up. Speed Density is not that much extra fuss. After all, we're not senior citizens here (well maybe Steve..) weekly tuning is fun!

What DOES suck is when you have speed density and cannot tune it. I drive a 2gnt for my daily workhorse. 2gnt's came from the factory with speed density which only gets worse with age. Every time the weather changes I feel a slight difference in power delivery... kinda creepy.

We are both having some issues, not enough to cause a lot of problems at our current power levels, but enough to keep us from making much more power. Steve's setup still has a lot of potential with more boost, it's easy to get to some really bad overrun on his. A bunch of parts on my 1G are maxed, so just overrun isn't the only problem. I think I still have 2 honeycombs I could remove in my MAF too. Steve put down 580s AWD on MAPs dyno with the 2G MAS.

Re: DSMLink V3

Any of this crap ever make you want to put your 2G back together?
So you would say 2G mas would over run about 55lb/min level?/What would you guess the 2G mas is good for?

Re: DSMLink V3

On dsmlink forum there is someone claiming high 9's in the 1/4 mile with their 2g mas. I don't know what vehicle they have but i think its a 2g awd.
