Yea that is a pretty bad month. I wouldnt total it unless your really ready to get rid of it and claim your losses. The Rear diff is easy as other said it just drops down. Much cheaper than selling it or claiming and gettting some money back. Wouldnt your insurance pay for the fixing and the parts needed to get it back up?
It's cheap enough to do on your own, claiming something like that will get you higher insurance rates or dropped, both of which is much more expensive than fixing it with used parts.

I'm sorry to hear that Brian. If there's anything you need in the way of help, let me know. I'm glad noone was hurt.

At least this time it wasn't the fuel that caught on fire....

Man, when it rains it pours. As with everyone else, I am sorry to hear about this. But at least you know next month has to be better. TKR Mark seems to have plenty of 2G stuff, maybe he can work some kind of deal for you. At any rate, I hope things start looking up for you soon.

Well I don't know yet what I'm going to do.

Mechanical problems I know can't be claimed due to being under normal wear and tear. however the fire is a different issue. the interior of the car Smells horrible.

fire/oil/trannyfluid.

Basically this what I'm thinking. Per My parents and Jenny I'm going to call the insurance company today and see what they say.

My ultimate goal is that they total the car. Doubt it will happen but...

I'll then buy it back and then Sell it as a whole for probably 8K. (depending on what they give me)

IF the insurance company says they won't total it. I'll Fix it on my own with out the insurance company's help. Since some of you say it's easy to do and cheap.

I'll let you guys know what's happens.

I wouldnt tell them that your rear diff started on fire, I would simply say that you had a car fire and would like to have them come look at it.
