You guys are awesome. I'm doing just fine, only I turn heads in public--get lots of "what happened?!"
As for fixing what I was trying to do yesterday, it's going into the shop tomorrow. Enough o that shi*. Since yesterday I've heard quite a few horror stories--many ending in death. It's humbling even laying down in a bed at night now.

Check your work surface too.........

I drove my buddy to the ER in Hawaii because the huge(safe) floor jack & stands sunk into the hot asphalt and tipped over causing the his 2G to fall on his ankle (which was directly under the rotor). The only thing that saved his foot was that I accidentally left the door open and it caught on the curb and held the car up enough so that it only severly bruised his ankle.

Yikes. Yah, my ground surface is cement, but a part of it has cracked and is leaning a little. I just paid a shop $100 to fix my mistake from the other day--but I'd rather do that than go under that van again!

It's good that your having a shop do it, but don;t let this turn you gun-shy. just have a double/triple redundant system, like jack stands and the actual jack all holding the car up. i had my car up on stands for a week and was under there almost every day. and every day those thoughts were in the back of my mind.. it is scary under something that can crush you.

well, good luck, don't throw a project away cause you are mad or worried now, casue later you might regret it, know what i'm saying?

plus don;t give it up cause i want to see a uber fast minivan! heh.

Oh, I definitely won't give up on the project for sure. I just don't have any stands right now, nor the proper ground to be working on. Maybe by the time I get my license back, this thing will be fast.. :rally:
