Re: Friends new ride!

I'm curious about how these cars take to mods, and what kind of power can be milked out of them. Is there much aftermarket support for the Speed6's yet? I know you say he isn't gonna mod it, but I'm just curious in general.

Re: Friends new ride!

They are soo heavy though, 3600 pounds.

A FMIC would really help that cars top end, im sure the top mount IC that is stock gets quite toasty after you pull it through a gear or two.

Re: Friends new ride!

Yeah I am sure the car is made to feel like it has a bunch of torque down low. Most people for a daily driver don't care about a car pulling to redline. They just want to be able to merge into traffic and pass people having the feel of a V8. The car handles great and would be a great daily driver. Yes very heavy though.

Re: Friends new ride!

I'm sure corksport or the other mazda specific aftermarket companies have stuff out for them already.

If I bought it, I'd do a fmic, "sport"-ier exhaust and some 23" blades with wood spokes and diamonds.

Re: Friends new ride!

It is a heavy car, but the suspension holds that weight very well; its much less noticable that it is on other similarly sized cars. Its fairly nimble and the suspension/tires really hold the road.

Re: Friends new ride!

Mazda makes a sweet chassis. That is why volvo and ford use their chassis'.
