Why would you order the kit for the base? The mod can be done with washers.

Because the precision made gromets are the correct size so it feels the best it can. I've used both and you CAN tell the difference.

The machined ones actually pilot into the holes in the shifter base for a more precise fit. I would never try to do it with washers. If you do washers, I hope the bolts never loosen. I got ahold of a set from Mike along times ago and it made a world of difference in shifter. Much more precise shifts.

Exactly, the kits are machined so the top portion actually goes up in the hole. And it's not like they are crazy expensive neither at a whole what, like 25 bux?

yeah, i think it was close to $70 for both kits. The season has begun and the addiction has become stronger. I think i know why i had to quit DSMs.
