Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
Amsoil is shit. I had a tranny with that had the redline cocktail in it for a while and it was starting to get a bit notchy, put in the amsoil and the car was barely driveable. I put the redline back in and it was back to just being slightly notchy. I also toss a few ounces of heavyshock into my redline cocktail for the tranny and also run that in the t-case and rear end. Now I only run Neo, it is spendy, but awesome.

I had the amsoil also, everything would grind and just be a pain in the ass if you didn't rev match everything.
Got the redline cocktail, after a little while it was smooth as eggs!

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
So i have been running Penziol Syncromesh for a couple years now, but this passed year i had e tough time going into third under boost. Would it be worth trying the REDLINE MIX, or something else??
Also what proportions is the Redlione Mix and does anyone add the Shockproof? Does it make a difference?

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
You only put shockproof in the rear end and transfer case. I believe when I put the redline coctail in my dsm I used 2 mt-90 and 1 mtl. It's been a while though, so I don't remember for sure

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
If you wanna wreck diffs, use GM Syncromesh, otherwise if you want actual gear oil redline from map seems to be the cheapest option.

I'm using Royal Purple right now. Not bad at all. Gonna go royal purple this summer with the trans, transfer case and rear diff.

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
I've done the heavyweight, and lightweight cocktail mix. Right now I think it's lightweight, MTL and MT-90. Either that or MTL and 2 lightweight. I forget.

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
Get it at MAP. You can run those if you want, that's a good mix for smooth shifting. My mix is thicker, better for gears, and not soo much the syncros.

Do not put in to much Heavy or you won't beable to shift unless your transmissoin is very very warm. The stealth saw straight lightweight.

I've had horrible luck with Syncromesh and dsm transmissions. Better luck using the valvoline GL-4 stuff you could get at Napa when redline isn't available.

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
I run straight mt90 in my eclipse. TRE has a good section (at least used to) on what fluid to use. Might help if you read that.

Re: What are DSM people running for tranny fluid these days?
Redline: 2 qts of MT-90 mixed with 1 qt MTL has proven to work very well and is what I've used for years.
MAP generally keeps plenty in-stock.

I have used Syncromesh for years and everything has been fine. I will be trying a different fluid this year.
