That's kinda what i figured. I was thinking maybe a guy could use a screwdriver to pry down on the lifter to see if there is any give but there is just too much pressure on the rocker arms and probably wouldn't get a good ruling on the test anyway. Taking out would then require using like a paper clip to drain them and then pump them back up with oil to see if they hold or leak. When i cleaned each one of them in diesel, that's what i did but you have to be careful not to break or ruin the little spring inside. I'm pretty sure mine are good. I drained and pumped each one about 3 times just so i wouldn't doubt myself later on.
