Pulling motor (1st time!) :) a few Q's

What year and model are you pulling the motor from? Is it awd drive or just front wheel? Last note the Vfaq has a good thread on removing the engine.

" I cant figure out how to disconnect the shift linkage from the shifter base to get it through the fiirewall, how do I do this?"

If you are just removing the engine you just disconnect it at the tranny.

You need to post more info about your car. That is a must if you really want help.
