Re: insurance bitching thread

I won't even get started on the Crap I've seen from insurance company's in this storm. All I can say is when you are in Need the most your insurance company isn't there to help you out WHAT SO EVER!!! and I don't care which insurance company you have, Not only do the people here have to pay anywhere from 2%-10% of the total value of there house as there Deductable. But getting any money from your insurance company in any type of timely mannor is just a job. So bad so that the state had to step in and help the people, (ie: forcing the insurance company's to finally put there damn phones back on the hook)

Re: insurance bitching thread

I'll have to agree with Brian on that one. When it's premium time, they're knocking at your door, but when it's time to collect, it's a bitch. I speak from experience, twice. They're are so many clauses too. Make sure you know exactly whats being covered when you take out the policy. My car is actually under my parents business. Because i'm a board member, i was able to do this. Saved me quite a bit.

I'm not promoting everyone in Wisconsin to yank their car insurance. But "NO" Wisconsin does require auto insurance. I just checked as stated below. Not related to the topic but i don't think people should have to wear seat belts either. About 10 years ago, had my brother been wearing his seatbelt, he'd probably been not here today by being in an auto accident not reliable for that he was a passenger in. Smucked broadside in which it put the passenger seat 1/2 way underneath the driver seat. If everyone should have to wear seatbelts, then everyone motorcycle driver should have to wear a helmet. I'm just pointing out that people shouldn't be able to tell us what to do in some cases. Most of these agencies that set up these mandates are just places created to give people jobs.

--- A quote off another website ---

As Wisconsin law does not require everyone to have insurance, the legislature has mandated that every insurance policy which is sold in Wisconsin include protection against accidents caused by uninsured motorists. Such coverage is called "uninsured motorist coverage". Wisconsin law mandates that such insurance must be for a minimum of $25,000 and tragically many insurance agents, even when the people have bought larger liability policies, sell the minimum amount.

Looks like you're right. WI doesn't require liability. But you're still responsible for all damages you cause, plus you lose your license and registration. I'd say that's pretty much the same thing to most people. I know if I lost my license I'd be in a world of hurt.

I wish the government would stop mandating helmets and seatbelts too; who are they to prevent Darwinism from doing it's job.

Re: insurance bitching thread

I pay $80 a month for the Talon, $6 for storage on the CRX and $18 a month for the bike. With exception to the CRX, they all have full coverage with $250 deductable.

I am on my own policy, am 31 years old and have a record just shorter than Korey's. It's all about the multi-discounts, baby!!!!!

Tom, I am still under my parents but it also helps if you have a good driving record. I believe full coverage on my 92 AWD was around $660 for 6 months. I also completed State Farm's Steer Clear program a year ago and have the good grade discount along with other family discounts for having the house with them.

Re: insurance bitching thread

Farmers insurance, $56.00 a month, liability, primary driver, graduated w/good student discount so thats locked in, clean record, 23yrs old.

When I had my 1G they didn't even wanna cover me, farmers won't even give you the time of day if your under 25 and the car is turbocharged. They don't even have evos of wrxs on file. The closest they can come is an imprezza 2.5 rs and thats 3200 a year. In other words, liability fo' life!

Thats why I pay 250 / mo for liablitly on the laser. Looks like it will hit 300 here real quick. Farmers loves the fucking cock. They are greedy ass theives. Just like all insrurance people. I'd almost wish them death, thats how disgusted I am with those fuckers. I get hit by some dumbass running a red light and they turn it around on me ? Fuck them, they are greedy lying fools.

Liability on a 92 Galant is about 110 a month. About 60 lower than my Talon because the Galant has two more doors. w00t. Can't wait to turn 25.

I heard a rumor that there is more than one insurance company out there. Some radicals even change insurance companies... LOL

In all seriousness, shop around for some better insurance. I pay about $38 a month for full coverage on my 95 Stealth R/T TT. I'm old, own a home, have a clean record for the last five years, and a credit score better than most.

later,
Curt

I've heard from people that use progressive that they're cheap up untill you get into an accident, then they take back all the money you've been saving.

Re: insurance bitching thread

My problem is i had really high coverages on everything, we sat down and discussed everything.. now.. i'm paying $439/month for car insurances on 5 cars with full coverage.

Paying $680 full coverage on the Eclipse. He was not too happy handing over $2000 back for insurances .. now im only paying $2195 every 6 months, and i'm married, and have no accidents in more than 7 years along with no tickets last 2 years.

i was on high risk for a long time

And you were going to tell us when..??? I would have like to have gotten you a wedding present....

I pay $89/mo through Progressive for two cars (my 2001 Prizm & our 93 Eclipse). I cut my bill in half by switching to Progressive Direct. I have never been in accidents or had any ticket...

Re: insurance bitching thread

when I first purchased my svt the insurance was outright WRONG. For a 2.5L 200hp 4dr grocery getter, it ran me 125 a month. Now it's around 85-90.
no tickets, not a spot on my record. Now it is a 98.5, so I did a 99 cobra quote. The cobra was a tad less. @320 hp two doors and the name MUSTANG. DAH, and progressive was CHEAP. Some places wanted 180 a month for a phucking contour.

my dsm, fully covered is a whopping 60 a month. But it doesn't have full coverage until I sell my csvt. it runs me about 30-35 a month with comp and liability.

total now, I pay around 120 a month with the csvt on full and dsm on comp and liability.

when I had my 87 accord, full coverage was 28 bones a month :-D
comp and liability was 23, so I figured it was worth the 5 bones.
