Brakes on the Dakota.

Well I finally got around to picking up my new brakes. Loaded Calipers and new rotors. But the reason I am looking to post htis here is to see if anyone local wants to save me some cabbage and make some on their own. I can't drive the truck farther than 1 mile without the brakes smoking like a bitch and getting super hot. And Goodyear wants about $150 in labor for the job. I'd do it myself but I don't have the right tools anymore nor a jack that will work on the truck.

So anyone open to make $75 in cash want to give it a go for what shoudl be less than 2 hours of work? You would need your own tools and a jack for the job. It's just the front brakes on a 4x4 98 Dodge Dakota SLT.

Anymore than that and I am going to pay Goodyear to do it.

I am located in Rogers and looking for something asap.

I'll do it if you can wait until Firday. Only issue I might have is the jack, how high off the ground is your truck's frame rail?

He works on Friday afternoon into the night, so that day doesn't work. The height would probably be about a foot & half since there are larger tires on there.

This would be a daylight job Eric. I don't know how much sunlight you can take or if there is enough pepsi in rogers.

If you don't find someone by this weekend, let me know. I should be around, so I could come out there.

Yeah I could come up too Allan, I am going to pull my tranny out again tomorrow and replace the pressure plate. And if that doesn't help then the car is getting burned.

Re: Brakes on the Dakota.

Got it all done, nice and easy but those calipers had to come off with a pry par but Eric M came out and took care of it. Joe K also came out in case we needed help but didn't get a chance to do anything sine the truck went real quick. Thanks again guys! I'm now driving the truck a bit till something else breaks. lol

Re: Brakes on the Dakota.

What the hell is with you and breaks not wanting to come off with out a pry bar? I almost lifted your car off the jack stands getting some of them bolts out of the break caliper. This was on the 1.8 that is. Thats good you got it all done though. Now get your shit together lets go out.
