Out at the antique shops today

Jana and I hit up some of the local antique shops in Rogers today. Just happen to be looking at some card and didn't see much till the last place we stopped. I found a 1965 Hank Aaron card. Bought it for $2.00. LOL in a few places online i have seen it valued for about $140 in the same condition although mine has some writing on the back in one spot but I still couldn't pass it up. Also picked up a 1977 Lou Brock, 1990 Mother Cookies Nolan Ryan 5000k card in MINT, and a 1977 Rollie Finger card in great shape.

Jana picked up 2 older board puzzles of the smurfs. lol

Re: Out at the antique shops today

Antique stores can be both good and bad for finding deals. Personally I love going to antique stores, flea markets, auctions, etc. I attribute this to having auctions in my blood from my Grandfather being an auctioneer. I have a pretty good collection of Lesney (Pre-Matchbox) toys car that I've picked up from various places.

Heh, my moms one of the biggest antique dealers in Stillwater....
Personaly, i cant stand them, because i grew up in a house full of antiques.
But yes, you can find some good deals on stuff, but you have to be carefull.

Re: Out at the antique shops today

Shes the biggest dealer in the "Mill Antiques", the old saw mill. I think theres like 70 dealers in there or something. Its right on the river, right before you leave on the north end.
I agree, cool antiques rock.. but a house full of cool antiques is overwhelming!

Re: Out at the antique shops today

I've been to those in Stillwater. I actually bought my old oil lamp from one of the dealers there.

I haven't been to Cannon Falls, but I know those are supposed to be pretty good as well. I'll have to check it out sometime.
