Did you try vfaq? I believe the extra wires are for the security system to you can arm the alarm with the t-timer letting your car cool down, I didn't hook mine up (could care less about the alarm) and it works fine. I also didn't use my speed signal wire, I really just wanted it for a turbo timer.
